High Grade CGC Certified Comics In Mastronet Auction

Posted on 12/2/2003

MastroNet's next Premier Americana and Sports auction opens for bidding on December 1st.

The 2000+ lots in the catalog include premium grade items from a number of collectible areas: politics, historic documents, pulp magazine runs, sports memorabilia, toys, and many others. Comic books, comic art, and character related items are the largest areas of concentration in the Americana catalog. These categories include a sizeable assortment of original artworks from the Colorforms warehouse, original cover paintings and complete story artworks for various issues of Classics Illustrated, vintage newspaper strip Sunday originals, and approximately 250 CGC graded, Golden Age gems.

At the time of the auction's recent assembly, a healthy percentage of these books stand as the best copies that CGC has ever revieved, with many others in the auction tying with one or more others for that same distinction. This outstanding level of achievement is easily understood when you realize that many of these books possess notable pedigrees, including: Mile High, Gaines' Files, Larson, Rockford, "D," Big Apple, Windy City, Pennsylvania, Carson City, Denver, and Cosmic Aeroplane. Here's a sampling of things to look for in the auction:
