Rare CGC'd 1950s DC Comic Books to be Auctioned off by Quality Comix

Brent Moeshlin of Quality Comix has recently acquired a Silver Age collection primarily consisting of nearly 500 mid- to high-grade DC comics from 1953 - 1959.  DCs have been notoriously difficult to find in nice condition from this time period, which makes this collection that much more impressive.  In addition, the page quality of these books are better than average and the eye appeal of even the low/mid-grade copies are of a fresh book with great colors.  Subsequently, Quality Comix has CGC-certified many of the more important books in this collection.  Some highlights include:

  • Action Comics #228 CGC VF+ 8.5
  • Adventure Comics #247 CGC VG 4.0
  • Batman #120 CGC NM- 9.2
  • Detective Comics #259 CGC VF/NM 9.0
  • Flash #105 CGC G/VG 3.0
  • Justice League of America #1 CGC VG+ 4.5
  • Showcase #4 CGC G/VG 3.0
  • Showcase #8 CGC VG 4.0
  • Showcase #15 CGC FN- 5.5
  • Superboy #1 CGC FN- 5.5

And many other F/VF to VF DCs from this era.

Many CGC’d copies will be auctioned off at http://qualitycomix.com/auctions.php on these dates: On April 15th, they will be auctioning off the Action Comics, Superboy, and Superman runs from this collection.  In mid-May, they will auction off the Adventure Comics, Batman, Jimmy Olsen, and Strange Adventures runs. Finally, in mid-June, they will conclude the auctions by listing the Detective Comics, Showcase, and Mystery in Space runs.

If you have any questions about this collection, their auctions or Web site, please contact them at info@qualitycomix.com or by phone at 334-300-1106.
