Mike Ploog, and Many More, Will Appear at the February 11, 2007 Los Angeles Comic Book and Science Fiction Convention!
Marvel comic book artist Mike Ploog makes a very rare personal appearance at the Los Angeles Comic Book and Science Fiction Convention on Sunday, February 11, 2007. Mike Ploog was the
artist for the first appearances of 1970s Bronze Age characters such as Ghost Rider and Werewolf by Night in Marvel Spotlight #2 and #5, as well as their regular series, and also handled Man-Thing, Kull the Destroyer, The Monster of Frankenstein, and Planet of the Apes. Mike went on to do design and storyboard art for films such as John Carpenter’s The Thing, Ghostbusters, Ralph Bakshi's Lord of the Rings, and X-Men. Mike appears with writer J.M. Dematteis (Spider-Man, Justice League International) to sign copies of their new fantasy book, Abadazad, as well as comic books. Mike rarely makes Con appearances, so west coast fans should not miss this opportunity to meet one of the key artists of the Bronze Age of comics!
Alfred Gough and Miles Millar — the creators of Smallville, One of the most popular and longest-running superhero television series — will also appear on the Convention stage to talk about the latest happenings with the series, such as the Justice League guest-starring.
Ray Park and Daniel Logan from Star Wars will appear. The Convention also features a great dealer’s room full of CGC comic books, toys, action figures, trading cards, DVDs, and much more. Dealers such as Harley Yee Rare Comics will be attending. 2007 marks the 30th anniversary of the Los Angeles Comic Book and Science Fiction Convention, making it one of the longest-running comic book-themed events in the US!
