Hello, fellow CGC collectors! As many of you know, I have been a collector
of super-high-grade comic books (mainly Silver Age Marvels and Gold Keys,
but I’ve had many runs of Bronze Age Marvels, Horror titles, pre-hero
Atlas, etc. over the years) for over 35 years and a CGC-only collector
since about 2001 and I am still as passionate about the collecting aspect
of the hobby as I have ever been (maybe even more so!). In fact, I have
lately concentrated on filling in the holes of my CGC Gold Key photo cover
titles and have been able to acquire a number of high-grade issues from
pedigreed collections as well as the Random House files. My love for the
early Silver Age Marvels is still strong and I continue to have full ultra-high-grade
CGC’d runs of these titles.
Now I want to share with you the fact that Pedigree Comics, Inc. will be
celebrating our three-year anniversary on June 16th, 2007.
When I started Pedigree Comics (www.PedigreeComics.com) back
in 2004, I had approximately 200 CGC’d books listed on the site (all
doubles from my own private collection). There are now close to 6,000 CGC
graded books on our site, a majority from a host of different
consignors who utilize our services to obtain the best prices for their
CGC-graded comics. In essence, Pedigree has become an extension of my own
desire to reach out to collectors worldwide and provide them with the absolute
best-graded books available. We have customers from Arizona to New Zealand,
all passionate about the comics they buy. We aggressively promote our services
and seek out the best CGC’d books for our customers. By offering only
comics professionally graded by CGC, we have omitted the kind of uncertainty,
guesswork, undisclosed restoration, and lack of objectivity that used to
plague the hobby prior to the advent of CGC certification.
It has truly been a wonderful three years for me just helping the CGC collecting
community find the comic books they love and need, as well as spending hours
on the phone talking about comics with so many fellow hobbyists. So, thank
you all for making PedigreeComics.com a great success! We look forward to
helping and servicing the comic book hobby, both from the collecting
community and dealer/auction sides, for many more years to come.
THANKS AGAIN!
DOUGLAS SCHMELL
