This week, a new version of the Collectors Society Web site will launch. While new features have been added periodically to this Web site, this is our most robust and comprehensive upgrade since its initial launch.
The biggest change to the site is the new Control Panel. Once you log in, you'll automatically be directed to the Control Panel. This page is your personal portal for navigating the Web site. From the Control Panel, you can access all the features of the Collectors Society, including editing your Registry Set and adding new Registry Sets. If you prefer, you can still use the pull down menus and navigation available in the previous version of the Web site, but the Control Panel streamlines how you move around the site.
While the overall site navigation has been improved, many of the features and tools that you are familiar with will work exactly as before. You can continue to move around the Web site using the buttons and menus that you used in the previous version of the Collectors Society Web site. We encourage you to take some time to explore the new navigation features as well. We are certain that you'll find the site more intuitive and easier to use. If you do have questions, please use the SUPPORT button at the top of the Web site.
New features! There's so much more!
Are you curious about what other members see when they visit your public home page? Just click on the View Public Page link in the center of the control panel and you can see what other members see. Public Home Pages have been upgraded to include Bios as well as a personalized view of our popular Journals, the Collectors Society blogs. You can add bios and journal entries right from the Control Panel, and then you can view your Public Home Page to see how they look to other members.
We've also added a Friends system. Now when you log in, you will see only the Journals contributed by the users you've selected to be in your network of Friends. You can also ignore other users which blocks them from contacting you through the Contact Member e-mail system. And, as always, you can restrict communication from all members by selecting this preference in your user profile.
Best of all... there's so much more to come! This site redesign also involved significant enhancement to the Collectors Society's technological infrastructure. These developments make a series of planned future enhancements possible. We can't wait for you to see what's in store during the coming months.
