Coming up this April 18th – 20th is the third annual New York Comic Con and CGC will be in attendance! “New York Comic Con is the second-largest pop culture convention in America and the only one that takes place in the comic book, publishing, media, and licensing capital of the world — Gotham City.” This exciting event just keeps getting bigger and better! Recently announced additions include Stan Lee and John Romita, Sr.! Special guests Neil Gaiman (Sandman, Neverwhere) and Frank Miller (Daredevil, Batman) will be making appearances at this show, so check the show Web site for details! CGC will have witnesses available at this show, so come by the booth for details and pricing. Other featured guests include: Bryan Hitch (The Authority, Ultimates), Joe Kubert (Tarzan, Batman), Mike Mignola (Hellboy), Grant Morrison (Batman), Steve Epting (Avengers), Neal Adams (All Star Superman, Green Lantern), Peter David (Incredible Hulk, Amazing Spider-Man), David Finch (Moon Knight, Ultimatum), Eric Powell (The Goon), Rob Liefeld (New Mutants, X-Force), Walt Simonson (The Mighty Thor, X-Factor), Ethan Van Sciver (Green Lantern), Arthur Suydam (Marvel Zombies) and many, many more! CGC will be accepting all tiers for regular submission at this show, so come by and drop off your books to save on shipping to our facility in Florida!
Also, April 25th-27th, CGC will be attending the 15th Annual Pittsburgh Comicon in Monroeville, PA. This is always a great show, and is small enough to allow attendees reasonable time to meet and greet their favorite artists without the long lines usually found at the bigger conventions. Some of the featured guests of this show include Sal Bucema (Incredible Hulk, Avengers), Talent Caldwell (Fathom), Jimmy Palmiotti (Painkiller Jane), Josh Blaylock (Devil’s Due Publishing), Al Feldstein (Tales from the Crypt), and Michael Turner (Aspen, Civil War). CGC returns to Emerald City Comicon, May 10th & 11th at the Washington State Convention & Trade Center. Some of the notable comic guests who will be appearing include: Brian Michael Bendis (New Avengers, Secret Invasion), Aaron Lopresti (Wonder Woman, Ms. Marvel, Hulk), Ed Brubaker (Captain America, Criminal, Iron Fist, Daredevil), Phil Noto (Jonah Hex, Infinite Horizon, G.I. Joe), Darick Robertson (The Boys, Transmetropolitan), and Dan Didio (Executive Editor of DC Comics). For the full list of guests please check the convention’s Web site. The show hours are Saturday, 10 am – 6 pm, and Sunday, 10 am – 5 pm. Last year, this show was one of the stops on the Hero Initiative’s “Ultimate 100” tour. This year, it will be your very first opportunity to see “Hulk 100” featuring 100 original covers to Hulk #1! Stop by the Hero Initiative booth to view 50 examples of these custom cover creations.
