From February 22nd to the 24th, CGC was set up at WonderCon at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, CA. Though the weather was quite chilly and rainy most of the weekend, that did not stop the crowds! The halls were teeming with comic collectors and enthusiasts alike!
Though there were times when the crowd was tight, it was still possible to get around and see the show. CGC’s prestigious Signature Series designation was as popular as ever with artists like Jim Lee, J. Michael Straczynski, Herb Trimpe, and Terry Dodson in attendance. Witnesses certainly had their hands full! Thanks to Kevin Boyd (Signature Series Director) and Chandler and Sharon Rice (Desert Wind Comics) we were able to fulfill many of the requests made for this convention. CGC was kept busy accepting books for signing, regular submissions, and answering questions all weekend.

This show is always a fan favorite of West Coast collectors as it brings out some of the big artists in a smaller setting than the San Diego ComicCon International and allows people to enjoy the convention in a less hectic environment. (Of course, ComicCon International has consistently been the biggest and best of them all and shouldn’t be missed!)
MegaCon
CGC made the “grueling” two-hour drive to Orlando to set up at MegaCon, March 7th through the 9th. This is truly a favorite of our company, as it is our largest local show and other than those who were sent to man the booth, several of the employees chose to also attend as fans. This year, MegaCon was held in the newer South Hall of the Orange County Convention Center and the people showed up in droves! It seemed that a large percentage of the attendees chose to dress in costume, so there was never a dull moment at the booth! Between accepting submissions, witnessing books for Signature Series, and answering questions, we were entertained by the various costumes that went by. Saturday was the busiest day at the convention and was a bountiful day for witnessing. Some of the artists which were featured at this show include Joe Quesada, Herb Trimpe, David Finch, Brian Pulido, and Greg Horn. CGC would like to thank Chandler and Sharon Rice of Desert Wind Comics as well as Daniel Partouche for their assistance in witnessing at this show. This year was a record for submissions to CGC at MegaCon and their efforts definitely assisted us in reaching this milestone.
