Metropolis at The Met

For the first time at the MET, comic books (many supplied by Metropolis Collectibles, Inc., and Batman Executive Producer Michael Uslan) will be featured in an exhibit.

"When I heard about the Museum's plans, I contacted them to make sure they would have comic books featured. At first, they were not planning on including the comics. Unbeknownst to one another, Michael and I were both thinking the same thing and we were able to convince them that having an exhibit on Superheroes without any comics would be incomplete."

"They agreed," stated Metropolis COO Vincent Zurzolo. "Comic books are one of the only true American art forms and I feel like this is one more step forward in our goal to have comics recognized as not just for kids," he added.

The exhibition explores the symbolic and metaphorical associations between fashion and the superhero. Featuring movie costumes, avant-garde haute couture, and high-performance sportswear, the exhibit will reveal how the superhero serves as the ultimate metaphor for fashion and its ability to empower and transform the human body. Objects will be organized thematically around particular superheroes, whose movie costumes and superpowers will be catalysts for the discussion of key concepts of superheroism and their expression in fashion.

This is an extremely special event. If you are in New York City, make plans to see it!
