CGC Comics in Latest Hake’s Americana & Collectibles Auction

In Hake’s Americana & Collectibles (a division of Geppi’s Entertainment Auctions) upcoming auction, Hake’s once again presents a selection of CGC-graded and non-CGC-graded books to bid on. A variety of comic genres are covered, ranging from Horror, Science-Fiction and of course, Superheroes. 

Some of the highlights include a Dick Tracy shoe store promotional comic, Little Orphan Annie comics, Captain Midnight comics and an issue of EC’s Weird Science,featuring a memorable cover by Al Feldstein. For fans of the Silver Age, Hake’s is offering a classic Silver Age Green Lantern issue as well.

For fans of more modern comics, Hake’s is offering CGC-graded copies of the first issue of the Wolverine limited series; three issues of the Marvel Transformers title, including the first issue; a 9.8 example of Swamp Thing, which features the first appearance of Vertigo staple John Constantine; and a 9.6 Andy Kubert-signed example of The Uncanny X-Men, which debuted the popular X-Man known as Gambit.

In addition to Hake’s CGC offerings, they are also offering a varied assortment of non-CGC-graded books, including an extensive Amazing Spider-Man lot that features classic stories such as “The Death of Gwen Stacy” and the first appearance of fan favorite, The Punisher. Hake’s is also offering a nice assortment of several Platinum Age comics, featuring The Katzenjammer Kids, Bringing Up Father and Moon Mullins, among others.

Hake’s is also offering another impressive grouping of items from the Craig Warren Batman Collection, one of the finest around. There are many comic book character-related items up for bid in this auction, including the aforementioned Batman Collection, as well as several Spider-Man and Superman items. The auction goes online November 13 and closes December 2 through 4.  For more information, visit Hake’s Web site, www.hakes.com.
