I finally sent some really nice books in, just to have them placed in that protective holder, to prevent damage. CGC levels the playing field for the new kid on the block and provides peace of mind for any collector who uses their service. I've been a serious collector for almost ten years. When I buy a book for any significant amount of money, I sometimes want to get an impartial second opinion regarding the grade and I almost always want the book examined by an expert for restoration. CGC does both. They do it well, and they can do it fast. I recently spent over $4,000 on a pair of books that I then sent to CGC for certification. The result: both had been restored. The seller honored the return and I was spared another horror story.
