Posted on 6/5/2012

The June Focused Auction showcases key and high-grade CGC-graded comic books from the Silver Age to the present, as well as Golden Age comic books and a selection of original comic art.

With the May Featured Auction having recently closed and many standout prices realized ($44,000 for an Amazing Fantasy #15 CGC 7.0, $15,027 for a CGC 8.5 Detective Comics #168 and $64,000 for a Steve Ditko Amazing Spider-Man #6 panel page, just to name a few), ComicLink consignors are setting their sights on other upcoming ComicLink auctions. The June Focused Auction is set to launch on June 7 and a growing preview for the upcoming August Featured Auction is now live. Early consignors can now reserve their slots and make sure to 'max out' on exposure for the August event. A July Focused Auction preview will also be launched soon.

The June Focused Auction showcases key and high-grade CGC-graded comic books from the Silver Age to the present, as well as Golden Age comic books and a selection of original comic art. Just a few of the highlights in this auction include Amazing Fantasy #15 CGC 4.5 (first Spider-Man), Amazing Spider-Man #14 CGC 9.4 (first Green Goblin, second highest), Amazing Spider-Man #34 CGC 9.8 (highest), Archie Comics #2 CGC 1.0 (R), Avengers #4 CGC 9.4 (first Silver Age Captain America), Fantastic Four #5 CGC 9.2 (first Doctor Doom), Flash #136 CGC 9.6 (highest), Journey Into Mystery #83 CGC 7.0 (first Thor), Human Torch #23 CGC 9.2 (classic Schomburg robot cover, second highest), Phantom Lady #16 CGC 5.0 (classic Matt Baker cover) and much more. The July auction will have a similar format.

The August Featured Auction will spotlight material specifically selected for its superior quality and desirability. Just a few of the comic book highlights already scheduled for this auction include Crime Illustrated #1 CGC 9.8 Gaines File Copy (highest), Detective Comics #27 CGC 2.5 (first Batman), Daredevil #1 CGC 9.4 (first Daredevil), Fantastic Four #3 CGC 9.4 and USA Comics #13 CGC 9.0 (single highest). The selection of original art already slated for auction is also extremely impressive and includes Al Feldstein’s historic Weird Science #12 cover from the very issue that kicked off this amazing sci-fi run, a Jack Kirby Incredible Hulk #3 page which is among the earliest Hulk art to come up for sale, a stunning Kirby Fantastic Four #19 featuring the whole team, a Steve Ditko Amazing Spider-Man #29 page with one of the largest middle panels of Spidey in the entire Ditko run from #1 through #38, Dave Cockrum’s Ms. Marvel #18 cover with the Avengers, and more.

“Consigning early to the August Featured Auction means maximizing your preview time which can be especially meaningful with the heavy auction promotion we do during the busy summer convention season,” commented Douglas Gillock, consignment director of ComicLink.

“To get started, simply email your list of prospective auction items to ComicLink at buysell@comiclink.com, or contact Douglas Gillock, Josh Nathanson or other members of the ComicLink Sales Team Monday through Friday at 617-517-0062 (option 1). We are accessible and here to help. Remember, the sooner we receive your comics and art for auction, the sooner we can start exposing them to bidders!”
