ComicLink Accepting Consignments for Upcoming Auctions

Posted on 12/4/2012

ComicLink is actively seeking consignments for the January Focused Auction and the February Featured Auction, which will be similar in scope to the November Featured Auction that recently closed.

“The January Focused Auction is lining up to be a whopper,” says ComicLink Consignment Director Douglas Gillock. “The growing preview already features loads of high-grade and key Silver and Bronze Age comics, one of the largest selections of Golden Age material that ComicLink has ever offered in a Focused Auction, ultra–high-grade Copper through Modern, and an assortment of original comic art. There is going to be something for just about every collecting focus in this first ComicLink auction of 2013, so it will be an exciting start to the new year. There is still plenty of room for consignments in all categories, however, and with the auction not going live until the second week of January, there is also plenty of preview time available leading up to the launch.”

“The February Featured Auction is our top-tier auction,” says Gillock. "The Featured Auctions give ComicLink sellers unrivaled exposure for their very best items. We have only just established the preview for this auction, but we are already seeing some very exciting highlights coming in. Just a few of these include: Tales of Suspense #39 CGC 9.4 (first appearance of Iron Man in Near Mint), Schomburg good girl covers from the Golden Age in Near Mint, early Timely and Golden Age DC issues in an assortment of conditions, and a plethora of high-grade Silver / Bronze Marvel and DC offerings. Original art already slated for this auction includes a page from Steve Ditko’s second to last Spider-Man issue, Amazing Spider-Man #37, with an exceptional Spidey panel at the lower left. Gil Kane and John Romita’s battle cover to Conan #53 battle cover will also be up for grabs in this auction, as will four of the best covers from Howard Chaykin’s controversial Black Kiss series.”

Gillock continued, “More material is coming in daily for this auction, so we definitely recommend that interested bidders and sellers check the growing preview often. We encourage sellers who have taken note of the outstanding auction results realized in prior ComicLink auctions to capitalize on the opportunity to let our aggressive bidders compete for your items, and to consign early for maximum preview exposure! As always, we will offer you an auction deal that can't be beat, and we look forward to hearing from you and promoting your items to the fullest!”

To reserve January or February placement, simply email buysell@comiclink.com with your prospective auction list, or call 617-517-0062 (option 1) to speak with Douglas Gillock, Jason Crosby, Sean Goodrich, Jon Signorelli or other members of the ComicLink team. If you are not interested in auction placement, but would like help achieving top dollar in a for-sale setting, feel free to reach out as well. We are always in the middle of brokering or buying one valuable comic book (or original art item) or another, and would be happy to help you as well!
