Nearly every book was sold from the lot of 518 CGC-certified comics. Sales totaled $368,873, and with post-auction deals in the works, the final tally is expected to approach $400,000.
The results are in from Pedigree Comics, Inc.’s recently completed Grand Auction. The auction began the night of Monday, June 17th and ended the night of Thursday, June 27th in the separate Grand Auction section of their website (www.PedigreeComics.com).
According to Pedigree Comics’ President and CEO, Doug Schmell: “The auction did phenomenally well. Almost every book sold and many went for record prices. Many of the books in the auction came from a few different consignments plus a group of books we had purchased in April at the C2E2 show in Chicago plus from the Wizard World Philadelphia convention at the end of May. Marvels led the way with many strong sales, particularly early Silver Age Marvels in 9.6 and higher, but there was plenty of bidding on the Silver Age DCs and on the 2 major Wolverine CGC Registry Sets we had from noted collector Thomas Pecora, including one of the top three highest sales ever for a “Modern” comic book, $10,002 for the Wolverine #1 9.9 CGC Signature SERIES copy. I want to thank all of my consignors for making this auction, our third of 2013, such a successful one”.
Here are just a few of the highlights from the recently completed June Grand Auction:

Pedigree Comics is now accepting consignments for their next Grand Auction, scheduled to begin on the night of Sunday, August 25, 2013, and last for ten (10) days until the night of Wednesday, September 4, 2013. The auction will feature ultra-high-grade Marvels and DCs, plus much more investment quality items. The sooner you consign your books, the more exposure they will receive. Pedigree aggressively promotes and advertises each auction and sends periodic newsletters to all of their 19,000+ customers announcing the auction items.
Consignors maximize their profits selling in a Grand Auction — more so than on any other auction site or auction house. Pedigree does not charge a Buyer's Premium, an amount that most bidders take into consideration when bidding in other sites (the bidders simply deduct that Buyer's Premium amount from their final bidding price, meaning less $$ to the consignor and more to the auction site). The higher the value of your book(s) that sell in a Grand Auction, the more $$ you take home under Pedigree Comics’ Climbing Scale. They consistently set new sales records for Silver and Bronze Age comics in each Grand Auction and on their regular site inventory listing, and they do not saturate the market with the same material over and over every month. Pedigree’s Grand Auctions are unique and exciting, with new and diversified, top-rated CGC material in each event. Why settle for less by consigning with someone else?
Prospective consignors can also upload their own scans, item information, descriptions and reserve amounts for the upcoming August Grand Auction by utilizing the Automated Consignment System. It is actually very easy and fun to do. Just register onto the site, click "Customer Page" under "Your Account" and then click "Consignments" (under "Auctions"). You will then be able to enter the Pedigree Comics Consignment Management System and upload your own CGC-certified books and magazines. They will receive an email notification automatically once you have uploaded the information, and they will then review the information imparted for accuracy. The item(s) will then be added to the August Grand Auction for bidding. You will be amazed how simple it is to utilize the Automated Consignment System.
