When Green Arrow first appeared in More Fun Comics #73, he joined an array of new heroes that would eventually become major members of the DC empire and the history of the medium. While he appeared within issue #73, Green Arrow's first cover appearance emerges on issue #77. The Spectre, Hourman, Aquaman, Dr. Fate, Johnny Quick, Siegel and Shuster's Radio Squad all appear in issue #79 but it is Green Arrow who graces 20 of 22 covers and beyond, speaking to the popularity of the character.
As we see from the legendary Jerry Robinson collection, Jerry could always identify an outstanding achievement in art and quickly requested the original. Of the select few covers from the DC lineup of Golden Age comics that exist, Jerry was fortunate enough to make this one part of his collection and hold on to it for more than 70 years!
