The famous Batman slapping Robin panel. Note that in this panel, it's Robin telling Batman to come to his senses. Typically, the meme is flipped. Robin would say something stupid, then Batman slaps him with his left hand and says something to correct Robin.

Avengers # 1 and # 4 Club

"Where am I? How did I get here? Who are you?" "Who am I? For a moment, I had almost forgotten myself... I was once the one the world called -- Captain America!" -

Punisher fans, let’s see them favorites..💀
Joseph Ragno replied to nepatkm's topic in Copper Age Comic Books
I rarely go for bronze or copper age collectibles, but this is one I wanted to pursue. I understand the glamour of ASM 129, but for me the ultimate moment in the Punisher storyline is the execution of his family. It's not in ASM 129, and you can't see it from the encapsulation of an entire comic. So I paged out MP2, and I'm able to display these 2 fantastic collectibles. -

In Praise of Single Pages
Joseph Ragno replied to GreatCaesarsGhost's topic in Golden Age Comic Books
What I see is a chance to own one of the best pages, from one of the best Golden Age comic books, with the first image of perhaps the finest villain in the history of comics, in rare supply, for a bargain price. -
In Praise of Single Pages
Joseph Ragno replied to GreatCaesarsGhost's topic in Golden Age Comic Books
Looks like there's a piece of page 3 (?) attached to the back of the page. Not sure this is a problem. Other than some tears, I fear I may be missing the problem you are asking about. -
Brittle Pages? How Bad Is It? Is It a Dealbreaker?
Joseph Ragno replied to Dr. Balls's topic in Golden Age Comic Books
One of my keepers is brittle. I would think this would be a problem if you were keeping a raw book with intention of leafing through it. Most of the time with a graded book, brittle pages will be on a lower grade, encased in an envelope, then encapsulated, without intention of it being further handled. Not a problem for me. -
Based on the general themes of these keepers, many of you, (and I mean us), need serious psychiatric attention.

I'd like to bump this thread. As a fairly new collector, I found it fascinating. I learned a lot. One of my takeaways from reading the entire thread is the focus on individual images and pages from these comics. I'm new to comic collecting, but I'm not new to investing. Seems to me that the greatest percentage increase moving forward is collecting the individual pages that represent these first images or sentinel moments in a character's storyline. I don't disparage any form of collecting that makes people happy. It just makes less sense to pay a high amount for a midgrade key book, rather than spending less money on the pages that one can actually see the images that make the comic or character special.
