Scrambling to find

I have been poring through all of my comics to pick the ones I want to submit to CGC for slabbing. I have been watching the different auctions and websites trying to evaluate some comics I have in my collection. As a result, I have found myself running back and forth to check the comics. I have a Comic Database that I should have completed the data entry by now, but I find myself getting distracted by other books for sale. I guess I am just lazy....   One day soon, I will get my data en

Really cool quote from someone catloging for the Who's Who of American Comic Books

I stumbled on this by accident, but for you Comic Book Database fans.. Trying to keep a scorecard on the players in the comics field is like identifying insect species in the tropical rain forests. The rain forests will be long gone before any investigators can finally systematize all the insect varieties. And then order will be achieved only because so-called rational beings can't live long with that much complexity.

Second LOT is HERE!!!

You know as a collector of comics, this whole grading thing is really cool. I am beginning to really get addicted to CGC. My second LOT of comics are here and what can I say other than I'm really happy!!! Hi there everyone-   I am again thrilled by the job that CGC does. I sent in 3 more comics for grading and the turn around on them where great..   I had NXY #2, V for Vendetta #10, and Iron Man #127 graded.   The thing I think that I really enjoy about having comics graded is when I

I learned something New pertaining to Postal Insurance and Issues that would result in Non Pmt

Yesterday while speaking with my Postal carrier, I asked her a little bit about Shipping and Insurance. This may be posted somewhere on someone's site, but I felt ignorant when she told me that while insuring packages is a good thing, there are many reasons that the insurance carrier has that would legally allow them not to pay "your" claim. It seems that if you do not have the package/property to be shipped completely surrounded in 4" of packing material, they do not have to pay any claim fo

3 Weeks till Arrival :) CGC has Service with a smile!!

I submitted 3 books for CGC grading. I already got the scores, but I won't get the Slabs back for about 3 more weeks. At least I got my scores I feel Happy!!! I just recently submitted 3 books to CGC for grading. Being a "newbie" to the CGC arena but not to collecting, I feel like a kid with a new toy. It seems like that I have become somewhat biased towards a CGC graded Comic Book. I have a collection of many possibilities to choose from for "Slabbing" purposes, Hell-I even have to get a

Adventure Comics #434

DC 7-8/74 CGC 9.6 Recently acquired from auction. This book was advertised as 'the highest graded issue'. In actuality was 1 of 5 top grades. Moral being: research your purchase. 'Nuff said!

New member

I collect Marvel and DC comics. Most of my comic-book collection is Marvel comics and some DC with a few indy comic-books. I have collected for several years and have read comics intermittenly over the years. I am looking to collect and trade comics. I also collect coins but not as much. I am currently auctioning Superman Doomsday books 2 and 3 at yahoo auctions. These books are in near mint to mint condition. I also recently acquired Superman books 1 and 2, titled , "Last Son of Earth"

CAPTAIN AMERICA COMICS #5

Last friday i found this issue of C.A.C at a really low price: $150.00, at a local store that look more like a warehouse; well tomorrow is the lucky day ...i'll go buy it. want to send it for grading, but i'm not sure about it ....i don't think it's secure, but who knows ... this might be the same thought that prevented me from buying the comic when i first saw it...

Happy and relieved to get my latest Numbers back.......

GS XMen #1 and 94 returned, 9.4 for both! Just heard from my younger brother that my latest submissions had been picked up by him earlier in the week. With baited breath I waited on the phone while he popped the box - I was very happy to get the numbers! My GS #1 was a 9.4 white and my 94 was a 9.4 Off white to white. Very pleasing! I'm now motivated to send off the rest of my run from 95-101 (which I got along with the above mentioned books) from one collector nearly 10 years ago.
