...and very limited on comic knowledge!
Well, first off, I have a problem, and I know that the first step is recognizing that I do have a problem. My problem is collecting. Name it, I collected it. Bottles, matchbooks, prints, stamps, currency (I wish I could keep that, but use it for other collecting) coins, hot sauces (Blair's, check it out) newspapers...the list goes on. Well, now on the list is comics. I'm scared for myself.
It all started back in 1994, after I had returned from 8
Completion is almost near.
According to my list i am 59 short of having amazing spider-man from #1 to present. however I a have a long way to cgc all of them. Any ideas on another set to complete? x-men? FF?

I'm still bidding on ebay and even Heritage.
I know that I said I wasn't going to be buying anything but it's not my fault I can't stop. Everyone keeps putting up such cool stuff.
Anyway, I hope to be doing the same soon. I joined up with the paid membership today and will summit a few comics in the hopes of trying to make my hobby pay for itself.
Not sure what I'll be selling. I don't plan on selling alot either. Just trying to make a few extra dollars to redirect into buying more signatu

Will Teen Titans be the next big On-Screen team?
I bought 5 more NTT books this week, including 4 9.8 copies, and happened across an article about the new Teen Titans movie in the works. As I read about how various studios had various rights to different characters I quickly came to the conclusion that a Teen Titans movie may NEVER be made. What was reassuring was that the characters of Raven, Cyborg and Starfire seemed to be safe in the context of being available for the movie. Now I know the
how do i put togeather the greatest modern comic collection comprised of strickly marvel
to me DC comic are nice but lack a certain something i cant put my finger on batman is nice but thats it to me if could see why DC comics are good i will start me a collection.
I really need to pay down the credit card.
Ok, so I got a little carried away buying stuff on ebay. I won't be able to add anything to my registry sets for a while. I think maybe a couple months. The good news is that I did get some good stuff. A copy of Incredible Science Fiction #31 from EC. A Bongo Comics FCBD issue signed by Bill Morrison.
I will still be looking for a few books I need, either graded or raw. I will also be looking on the registry at the new most recent additions other me
Autoghraped and signed to me by Josh Howard!
My friend Jax got me into comic books when she brought me along with her one year for Free Comic Book Day. My first love is the series Dead@17; the first comic of the small but growing collection was "Blood of Saints (3 of 4)" autographed by Josh Howard(and I got to meet)!
Here I come going for the top spot.
I know alot of people are into getting older comics and filling in spots in there collcetions of bronze, silver, and gold age comics. Unfortunatley that can be very expensive and not everyone has comics that go back that far sitting around waiting to be graded plus they are very hard to find.
Now me on the other hand I have decided to go for what I already have a ton of and is a much smaller set than some of these huge runs of comics that date back before
Current Status on my comic sets.
Well, it's been a slow go since my last update. Probably the biggest movement has been a 2,000 increase in my HOM set (with only a 4% improvement towards completion) and a BIG jump on my Ghosts set (78% to 91% completion) and Witching Hour set (70% to 83% completion).
Phantom Stranger (2nd)
Forbidden Tales of Dark Mansion
Journey into Mystery (2nd)
Can you guess which comics I am adding now?
Again I am buying Batman and Detective comics, and I picked up another Aquaman as well. Superboy continues to grow, but I am still not finding any competitions for these to register them.
Without a real game plan for building a set to completion or the like, I am recalling comics I once traded or filling gaps all over the place. I like building FF and DD, but again and again come back to Action and Detectives.
Remind me to submit half of my b
Bewitched with new Witching Hour additions.
Well, after four years of collecting this title, I moved from a paltry 45% to roughtly 75% with the acquisition of a collection from a fellow horror collector. It looks like this title is becoming more challenging than I initially thought...but I hope to have this being more or less wrapped up in a couple of years.
Giant Size Spider-Man #4
I've finally managed to buy an affordable 'Giant Size Spider-Man #4' (CGC 8.5, not the best grade but good enough for me).
This book has eluded me for some time due to the inflated demand for it recently and considering that Including P&P I paid $69, when the 'Overstreet' guide for this book is around $90 raw, I think it's a snip.
Moving on to the next target 'Amazing Spider-Man #300' CGC, I somehow wonder whether I'll get it under -'Overstreet' guide price, pr
After more than 2 years on eBay, I've found a New Teen Titans number 4!
Many thanks to eBay's adouglaw. At long last, I've been able to secure a 9.6 white page copy of NTT (1980) number 4. I believe this book to be very rare in 9.6 white or better. As soon as it is received I'll be posting it and a white page 9.8 number 46 I picked up to my set.
I just realized another reason for adding stuff to the registry.
I know that the registry is sort of a way to show off way I got. I've been online alot today looking at ebay and other sites. I started to realize that I couldn't remember everything in my collection. The registry provides a easy listing of what I have and the condition it's in. No more accidential dupes. Thanks CGC.
Peter David is one cool guy.
Today Peter David was signing comics at my comic shop. I got Friendly Neighborhood Spiderman #17 signed and me, being the newb that I am, didn't know he wrote World War Hulk Prologue. I didn't bring mine and the shop didn't have any copies left either.
A guy about 2 places in front of me asked if Peter could sign a comic for his friend. Peter said no, not because it wasn't his but because the comic wasn't written by him! The guy asking for the autograph said
My Collection has started.
A couple weeks ago my brother brought me with him when he went to browse some new comics at a local comic book store. He had just recently got back into collecting after a long time.
I was amazed at all the comics. I had always drove by the store and saw nobody in it. I always wondered how the store stayed in business. After some thinking I decided I wanted to start collecting so I scheduled an appointment for my brother to drive me there to buy my first comi
I just purchased an Incredible Hulk 181 CGC 7.5 today + plus a reader copy. But I also got something else out of the transaction.
I just purchased an Incredible Hulk 181 CGC 7.5 today + plus a reader copy. After I made the purchase and I was driving home from my local comic book store I had this weird feeling come over me.It was feeling I had not had in a long long time when leaving a comic book store. It was not until I got home and read the reader copy that I put my finger on it.
It was the s
This is how it all began.
One afternoon as I was wandering aimlessly up and down the aisles of the local People?s Drug while my dad filled a prescription; Marvel Super Heroes Secret Wars #10 caught my eye on the spinning comic book rack. The agony and equal perseverance the Mike Zech drawn Doctor Doom elicits on that cover struck me as something awesome. I HAD to have that comic. Just as my dad agreed to shell out the sixty cents to buy the book, Amazing Spider-Man #261 twirled around the r
