Adventures of Superman 500 Platinum? pt 2

I answered my own question... Just minutes from posting my last journal I finally found someone who opened the bag for adventures of superman 500. its the same thing as the normal poly bag but grayish metallic borders. but however it goes, they still got $100 from me...in this pic the owner actually got it signed but cgc does not recognize it if not in their presence To see old comments for this Journal entry, click here. my very first CGC signature series submission

I turned in 3 books at the CGC booth at the first ever Long Beach Comic Con. I've been sending my books to CGC now since 2005. My first CGC was at the first ever Wizard World in Long Beach. I have been submitting ever since. Now that a convention has returned to Long Beach I thought I'd give the signature series a try. I did not witness the signing but called and confirmed they were signed. Now what grade did they get? I will find out tomorrow when I give them a call. They were signed by J. Sco

Rogue

Need to add Rouge comics The registry still needs the regular Rogue titles added. Also X-Men 227 is not in it yet. I can't forget to add them once these are in the registry. I wonder what the reason is that not all comics can be added to the registry!

Our first raw comics sent to CGC, turned out great!!

As most of you know we started collecting CGC's last year, up till now we have not had any graded. We always bought them already graded. We sent 15 raw comics in for grading, most came out as we expected, some a grade lower. So I guess for not being pro graders we did not do so badly. After the New year we will be sending in a lot more to be graded so wish us luck! Col Cauley

need to organize my collection

Anybody know a good hopefully free software to catalog and help me keep track of my growing collection of Raw & CGC graded comics. Anybody know a good hopefully free software to catalog and help me keep track of my growing collection of Raw & CGC graded comics. Like most of you, I have so much that I don't know what I have anymore. A software that doesn't require a monthly or yearly fee. Any feedback would help. Thanks.

Progress Report

When I say I'm going to do something, WATCH OUT! Since announcing my new strategy to refocus my comic collecting efforts, I have made significant progress: 1. I have moved from number 9 to number 6 in the DC Bronze Age First Issues set. 2. I have moved from number 7 to number 2 in the Superman/Batman set. 3. I have moved from number 8 to number 6 in the Transformers 1984 set. Time to go spend ... i mean INVEST ... more money!

1st Journal of 2009

Ok, I've finally given in... Ok, I've finally given in... My first journal. My 1st priority is to complete the Transformers INFILTRATION set, one of the mountains in the way of doing this is obtaining Guido Guidi signatures (frustration), I hope that He shows up at a con some time in the near future, I also understand that this is probably difficult for him since He lives in spain, or italy, darn I forgot which at the moment (sorry it's 4 in the a.m.)... to be cont.

Jackpot grading

CGC won't like this. I sent in 30 books which were received by CGC (according to their website) on 06/01 and I sent in 11 books which were received by CGC (according to their website) on 06/05. They were to be sent back to me via 40 days. I got the 30 books back this friday (09/05) and the other batch was recently graded (09/05) but have not yet been received. I contacted CGC about this and received the "we're very busy due to conventions and onsite grading" This I can understand to a faul

We had a great weekend on Ebay. Got a lot of nice CGC's for less than book.

It was the best we have ever done on Ebay. Most everything we got was for less than 9.2 Overstreet guide prices. In X-Men vol 1 we ended up with 122, 123, 127, 137, 139, 211, all 9.6 CGC graded we also got 266 9.8. Civil War we got a no 1 sketch cover & a no 1 Var. cover no 3 var. cover all 9.8. Astonishing X-Men we got Giant size no 1 sketch cover & a no 1 Directors cut Edition 9.8 A lot of great add ons for our collection. I hope eveyone here has such luck soon too. Col

Welcome Me

The best is knowing I was guided here and immediately felt like this is 'home'. I am excited about this new venture where I could probably meet some of you here and share with you some of my ideas and/or opinions. Hope we are able to discuss a common interest that brings good grades.

Best Options

Making the BEST CHOICE I am just joining...reading...and having a ball as a FREE MEMBER. However, I am seeing more. The more I read, I know there has got to be more to this but I realize I have to begin somewhere because my efforts have been thus fruitless. Does anyone out there know what the grading process is about? How does one go about getting them graded and how long does it take? What are the steps taken after your book is sent out? I have an eBay account that is not doing any

Picking up steam...

Passion for something I have written here just recently because I have just joined. I am THAT excited to be a part of something and have a common interest. Rare. Being anti-social and yet social enough to get the conversation going and exchange some really good ideas. The emergence of one who is passionate about something. I know there are those who have the details down to the last final letter. That is interesting. Believe in what you say. Know what you are talking about. And

I wish I would have started collecting comics years ago!!!

I have read bought sold & traded comics since 1968. I never thought about collecting till 2008 when my boys wanted to start. We started to collect comics early in 2008, by mid 2008 we started with CGC's now thats all we collect. Over the years I have bought entire collections to resale but never thought of collecting myself, wish I had. We would have a great collection by now if I had. I am retired now & spend most of my time looking for new CGC's or sorting comics. I still buy complet

Secured Daredevil #131, but still seeking Flash #139

Recently secured I recently secured Daredevil #131 CGC 9.2 from High Grad Comics. My man Bob Storms comes through again. I had several failed bid attempts on Comic Link, so I was so pleased to receive an email from Bob about this book coming in off my want list. I immediately signed on an purchased this book. However, I am still looking for that elusive Flash #139 in high grade. I have 3 copies of this book in fine grade, but I am really looking for a 9.0-9.4.
