What were you thinking????

What were you thinking? Smaller pictures and messing up everyone's descriptions Dear CGC Collectors' Society, Did you bother to ask anyone who actually uses your website and who has hundreds of descriptions and pictures before you mess everything up. You?ve removed all the CRLF from my descriptions and they look horrible. There is a thing called testing before rolling changes out to production. You have a website devoted to sharing comic book information & you make the pictures sma

What Is the Rarest Richie Rich in High Grade?

Richie Rich #21 I've been collecting RR for several decades now and finding a high grade RR#21 has been nearly impossible. With only 3 copies certified by CGC over the past 10 years it is easily the most difficult to obtain. There are lots of listings for raw low grade ones, but, nothing in high grade. Most other issues have at least 6 or more certified copies. Issues with 3 certified: #21 Issues with 6 certified: #12, #13, #22 Issues with 8 certified: #14, #24 Issues with 9 certified:

Tribute to Quinton Clem

(Collectors' Society --- Harveyland) (ebay --- spookytuffghost) Sometimes you don't know your friends are gone until you see their collection up for sale at Heritage. Quinton was a great guy and every week had Harvey Comics listed on ebay. I never could figure out how he kept acquiring them all, but, I do know that he was one of the 1st to purchase file copies from the Geppi collection. In the late 90s he helped me fill in the last few holes in my 1st Richie Rich set. I remember buying my 1st

Thanks for messing up my 1100 descriptions!!!!

Another Enhancement Pushed To Production Without Testing CGC you need to hire a quality assurance tester. Once again you've moved a change into production that has removed all the CRLF (Carriage Return Line Feed) in everyone's descriptions. Now there is no spacing at all. Still itching from bagofleas....

Met the Flea Circus and had a great time! I noticed in one of bagofleas' many posts that the Flea Circus is headquartered in Tallahassee. As I was going to be driving thru last month and I just read the post of him meeting Tnerb, I decided to reach out and ask if he'd like to meet somewhere. It's always akward at 1st meeting someone new, but, after a few minutes of trading comic stories, we became friends. I've been reading all of his posts and also watching his interest in Harvey Comics star

Star Trek ----- Now 100% Complete

Just in from grading: Star Trek Gold Key issues #42 & #49 both CGC 9.2. These were the last two I needed. I sent in a large batch of Star Trek to get graded and finally got them back this week. My grading is getting substantially better. Of 54 comics sent in I got 19 right and 23 were only one point off. http://www.collectors-society.com/registry/comics/PeopleSetDetail.aspx?PeopleSetID=2471 ST4249-66.

Reply to "easier and cheaper"

Keep in the game and hone your grading skills. Why spend all the money? To sharpen your grading skills. Grading is an art, but with all things worth while it takes the commitment of time, effort, and money. I've only sent in 33 comics so far to get graded. I keep a list to compare what I think the comic grades before encapsulation and then what it grades after CGC certifies it. Both my 1st and 2nd batch that I sent off, I didn't get any right at all (and 2 were even restored). The most rece

New Milestone: 200,000 Registry Points.

It's taken me about 3 1/2 years to add 100,000 points. In the first few years of the Registry, 200,000 points would put you in the top 10 or 20 contributors. Since then, there have been lots of sets added and more and more people joining. I enjoy watching other people's sets grow and viewing their scans and descriptions. Here's what put me over 200,000. How to remove sticker residue from a slab.

Creamy Peanut Butter One of the most annoying things that most dealers do once their inventory has been slabbed whether it is a banknote, coin, or comic book, is to put a sticker on it. I hate stickers. I hate sticker residue even worse. You start peeling from the corner then you you get part way and the sticker starts ripping. What a pain! You end up with a gooey mess all over your 9.8. Heritage stickers are great! 99.9% of the time they come off easy and peanut butter method is not needed.

Cloud Beer???

This cover could be interpreted in many ways.... Casper and Wendy enjoying their own special brew of Cloud Beer? Or maybe it's supposed to be some type of twist on an ice cream float. Or since the cover is October, perhaps Warren Kremer was celebrating Oktoberfest after all. Maybe he was thirsty You decide Anyway, as the Germans say during Oktoberfest...Prost! to Warren Kremer and all his many years of great covers! http://comics.www.collectors-society.com/WCM/ComicView.aspx?Pe

100,000 Registry Points

Richie Rich, Star Trek, & Uncle Scrooge Well I've made it to 100,000 Registry Points. I'm amazed; I never thought I'd make it this far. Collecting comics is a very relaxing and rewarding pastime. I really enjoy opening a new shipment of comics, scanning them, and adding them to my sets. Thanks for all the sellers out there who have helped me in my quest of comics. Casper Space Ship #4 in CGC 9.6 from Feb-72 put me over the top.
