You All R Crazy...

And I love it! Does Harvey have a hangover today? I just figured he down 2 bottles of wine and went for it. Just reading all the posts from the last few days, commenting on some rants and what not, but it has truly brought a smile to my face today. If you think the mass postings were tough here, imagine my work inbox when i tell you that is NOTHING! I do IT support and have recieved almost 1200 emails today alone. Yeah, it's one for the record books here... It's been a rough one, bu

Year One: In Review - One Year Comic Book Anniversary

Nov. 27th 2011 - Jimi Hendrix Birthday! A year ago tomorrow will be my "One Year Comic Book Anniversary" when I recieved my first order from MyComicShop.com (Lone Star Comics) in Texas. It was isuues #1 through 10 of V For Vendetta, one of my all time favorite movies! Lone star has been good to me this year and & I quite enjoyed their service over along with many others. I have somehow amassed 734 books (including 58 CGC) - ok, I can admit it, I went nuts!!! But, it has been well worth

Y The Last Man

Amazing! Since I'm fairly new to comic books I've been playing a lot of catch up. I first started in 2010 with the lastest Wolverine series, which led me to read X-23, Daken and the Uncanny X-Force. X-23 was great, so I went back and read NYX & the earlier mini-series. Loved them! Didn't really care for Daken, but the Uncanny X-force is great! However, along the way I felt like I was basically missing a ton of background information on the Marvel universe. I decided to read the

X-Men: First Class

Looks even better in person! UPS is definately a bit tougher on the boxes coming from Florida, but fortunately enough, the comics are well packaged. Had to share the X-Men book that arrived! Already sent 2, 3 & 4 off and are in grading/QC. What have you received recently? To see old comments for this Journal entry, click here. New comments can be added below.

Wonder Woman #156

I combed through my Wonder Woman collection and found 6 books that all appeared to be VF/NM 9.0-ish & have confirmed I'm a terrible grader when it comes to older books.  Of the 6, one came back higher & fortunately for me, it is the one book I shelled out the most $ for, Wonder Woman #156.   The other books included #137 (6.0), 161 (4.0) 177 (7.0), 179 (6.5) & 204 (7.5) - I'll have to review the grader notes, especially on #161, as all of these books looked so much better than t

SS Just arrived in the mail today - my first SS Marko Djurdjevic! Was very excited since it's he is my favorite cover artist! and he knows how to go out with a Bang! Winning Bidder Doesn't Pay

Or... How many people are out there bidding on stuff and then not buying it... I had a few eBay auctions for the end of the year and sold a bunch of stuff, but it never ceases to amaze me that every time I auciton off stuff, there's always one person who wins an item and then never pays. I have put together a couple of responses to this problem. First, I send an invoice over and over again, email, but it's always the same thing. There is no response what-so-ever when a person plans to n

TO ALL MY FRIENDS ON THE BOARDS....

GRADING... I just had an "episode" with a buyer this last week on eBay & wanted to vent.... Slightly.... I typically deal with new, unread comics that are in the NM range. Obviously, grading is subjective. Everyone once in a while I might come across or have something of a lesser condition as I did this past week. I had graded the comic at VF/NM - Figuring 9.0..ish... I'm no pro, but getting better at grading... The comic was new, unread, laid flat, but had 3 small indents

Three 4 Thursday!

Part II - More Solo covers... Tnerb noted that the white backgrounds really pop in the natural frame. I could agree more, Tnerb, Thanks for noticing! So, with that I decided to stay with the theme and do some more Solo covers.... Though some really nice books have recently made their way into my collection, I'll just have to save them for another Thursday. Here we have another 70 years cover, this one featuring Sub Mariner on the Black Panther issue. This one always confusing me, but oh

Three 4 Thursday!

Part IV - Some SS in the Mix! Welcome to my office wall, located in the dining room. Yep, this is the wall I stare at while I try to get most of my work done. I've been swapping out comics on a weekly basis and this week featured Hulk Vs Hercules, a 9.6 signed by Djurdjevic, Brown, Pham, Layton, Calero, Van Lente, and Quesada. I picked this up with the Incredible Hercules, a 9.8, also signed by the gang. Nice eBay finds last month! Centered is good 'ol Captain America 617, a 9.8. Enjoy!

Part VI - Winter is coming... ..Well, maybe just fall around here. Gotta love the Game of Thrones reruns on now!!! This week features some leg kicking from Spider-Man, the zombie cover was a recent return from CGC, 9.4, exactly what I thought it would be! A few others in that order went a little sour. Also included is my last white background and a wedding. To see old comments for this Journal entry, click here. New comments can be added below.

Part XIV - Miles Morales... This week showcases Ultimate Fallout Variants 4, 5 and 6. All 9.8! I was really happy when issue 4 returned from CGC a couple of weeks ago as a 9.8! And.. it's Miles Morales 1st appearance. What did you think of Peter's replacement? To see old comments for this Journal entry, click here. New comments can be added below.

Part XV - Avengers Poster!!! Another great puzzle poster of covers from Marko! This features the first 3 of the Avengers, the Hawkeye & Mockingbird variant is a super tough one to find, but I'm happy with a 9.6... For now... The other two are pretty easy to find, still, but they look great together!!!! Might have to share the other half next week!!!! To see old comments for this Journal entry, click here. Part XVII - Staying in the Eighties.... This week I swapped out the display comics for some recent acquisitions. New Mutants 1 CGC 9.8, which I found on the boards. I had purchased a copy of this book well over a year ago, only to turn around and sell it... But, when a deal comes along, sometimes it's hard to pass up. And when it was on sale along with Moon Knight 1 CGC 9.8, I just couldn't resist. The Moon Knight is actually signed on the inside by Bill Sienkiewicz. The 3rd book is Marv

Part XIX - GOT GOTG?!?!?! Let's just get into the good stuff!!! If I keep this up, I'll probably just start to pummel you with my Guardians of the Galaxy books, over and over again, week after week, simply because... That is the vast majority of my collection now. Oh, how collections change and wander over the years... I have been at this a few years now and of all the titles I've read, of all the characters I've come to love, no one is quite a cool as this team. ...and yes, this is proba

Three 4 Thursday!

Part XX - GOTG Movie Variant Ahhh, the puzzle... Putting a few covers together to make one great big image. Is the whole stronger than the parts? I think so! As I slowly build a complete set of Guardians, I had to take it to the max last night and go above and beyond the self imposed price limit and when it arrives sometime in the next week, I'm sure it will be worth it. I missed a post last Thursday, just completely forgot about it, but I'll blame it on the eggnog. This week features

Three 4 Thursday!

Part XXI - Zero Point One This week my wall features the three covers from Guardians of the Galaxy 0.1. If you haven't already sunk your teeth into this series, this is the book that started it all for me not too long ago. This introductory story features the roots of a man who formed the band that keeps our galaxy safe, Star-Lord! The center cover features a really nice McGuinness Variant, bookended with the 1st print and sketch version. (Gonna have to upgrade that sketch one of these da
