Man without Fear #513

Jumping off the band wagon

New writers and new artists come and go. Characters change with the talent of these people. Sometimes they fail, like Daredevil #321, I am sorry the metal costume was lame. Of course sometimes they succeed like issues #158 to 291. I think I am sort of biased there. They even relaunched Daredevil with a #1 by Kevin Smith, they ripped him apart and sent him to jail and even returned to the original numbering. Every issue starred Matt Murdock, the man without fear. They have changed the title in the past to Daredevil and Black Widow(way before I collected the title...or comic books for that matter) but now I am perplexed.

The title will no longer have Daredevil in it, the book won't have him in it either. Instead of allowing Daredevil to continue his long run, the people at Marvel are shaking things up and continuing the Man Without Fear with the Black Panther. I was appalled(still am) when I first heard this. I mean, how could they?

I am almost done this series. I only need 5 more out of the 512, so now what. I am not a Black Panther fan, I still collected the Fantastic Four when he was on the team with his wife Storm (what a sham that is). I only continued to collect the title because I was hoping for clues to what was going to happen next, in my opinion they didn't disappoint, and they were gone rather quickly. This is Daredevil though. Storm is back with the X-men and the Black Panther is going to run a diner in Hell's kitchen. This is worse than a married couple in separate beds.

Is Storm going to visit the pages of The Man Without Fear?Is the Black Panther going to move to the West Coast as Matt Murdock did all those years ago to be close to Natasha? Are the two even still married or did they separate ala Spider-Man and Mary Jane?

Back when Marvel was the new kid on the block it was common for the title to change by the numbering to stay the same, an example would be Journey into mystery becoming Thor. They did this because they thought readers wouldn't start over with a number one. I think the 90's proved this philosophy wrong. My thing is why not just start the Black Panther over again with a number one and leave Matt Murdock in his own title instead of spinning him off into a limited series.

Are they doing this because they feel the Black Panther would be good in Hell's kitchen? I think it would be better to have T'Chilla join Storm in the X-men. Can you imagine the testosterone between him and Namor. Just even mention the Illuminati and T'Chilla could tell Namor "I told you so".

Now since this is a CGC website and not a complain about Daredevil site, what do I do now. Issue #513 is due out soon(today actually) and I have no idea if I should pick it up (I didn't). I have always thought about just waiting for trade paper backs on a lot of the new stories, I mostly do this with DC. But what if I stop collecting this series, wait for the Trade and just collect them in a 9.8. Sure I won't have had the experience month after month of finding out what is going on, and I will have to wait about 8 months just to read six issues, but I will be able to read those six issues at once. Can I do this, will I have the will power to wait? And then what do I do when Daredevil comes back to the book?

Will Marvel do this again? Will the Amazing Fly take over for Spider-Man? Will the Uncanny Rom move the X-men out of the way? I even tried a video blog which I have posted on my Facebook page. I wish I could share it here but I hope I am able to link it properly, if not and you are interested, please send me a message and I will show you how to connect.
