The Doors, Track 11 (or side 2, last song)
This is The End...
I heard "The End" in my head as I was packing my last CGC bundle for live drop off at the Pittsburgh Comicon a couple weeks ago. I decided to throw in all of my ungraded remaining X-Men for the sake of getting a grade for completion (still missing issue #1 and #3) but I felt this sense of completion, the closing of a chapter.
Work has been busy and I've been reprioritizing while watching my collection gaps continue to close. So I thought, this is the end of my project. I can't get into the new A vs X stories, I'm losing steam on modern books, and I thought, "Could it be? Am I done with comics?"
I see older and older fans buying the books I like/collect, and the new stuff the kids are into just doesn't appeal to me as a fan or collector. Heck I love the Walking Dead, but at this point I'd only be into getting the trades. I could buy a pretty okay copy of X-Men #1 for the cost of Walking Dead #1-5 9.8 (since no one seems to want any books from 1990 onwards unless they are perfect; a 9.4 is a GREAT copy! But I digress...)
So as I was trolling the floor of the Pittsburgh Comicon on the final day, looking for last bargains, I realized my collecting days were drawing to an end.
Then I pick up a copy of Nick Fury, Agent of Shield #1(you know the Steranko cover...) and Atoman #2.
I'm still all in!
