Unfortunately Gabe the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different outcome.

You my friend need help.

You realize your "girlfriend" or "wife" or whatever is likely a dude right?

Well, I would but I have no reason to not believe what they say to mean because everything they have told me thus far has been true. I asked if she trusted me with her account info which she did and gave it to me. I tested it and indeed it worked and I was able to use it.

All this solidifies (if people didn't already come to this conclusion) is that you are in desperate need of some serious professional help.

Because I want to change for someone I love? Like I said aside from my own doubts in my head which are always there I have no reason to not trust what she's saying.

So you were up all night playing elf sex quest and now will be sleeping all day and unable to attain employment......sounds about right.

All this on the back of the tax payer, no less.

Bring back debtors prisons now!!

Your stupidity and assumptions never cease to amaze me. First off, I'm an adult and I'm allowed to play whatever and do whatever as long as it's against the law. Second, this isn't a game I play all day and night. Third, get off your day high horse with the tax dollars already. I started this game before even going on assistance and no it didn't interfere with my ability to get a job.

Can we assume he used the credit card to make in-game purchases?

Like I said stop making assumptions because they lead to nowhere.

Quite amazing in it's own way isn't it?

I know what you mean, except I'm pretty sure it's real.  I mean, what can you say when someone makes the statement "They even offered to let me max out my card to the limit."  I'd love to hear where he got that idea from, and by hear, I mean a photo of the correspondence from the credit card company that makes that statement in writing.  If he would ever listen to anyone with more life experience than him, which is almost everyone, he'd know when you are issued a credit card, it usually has a limit and it's up to the cardholder to decide how to use it.  You want to use it responsibly, fine, the credit card company can live with that.  You want to max it out buying things you can't afford, they'll light up like a Christmas tree because that's where they make their money.  But, then again, that only applies to people  who actually pay the debts that they incur of their own free will.  It's called integrity.

The bank teller looked at his computer and told me the offer popped up when I came in to make a deposit. At the time I asked what my max limit was and he said 5k

Okay, I'll bite.  What offer popped up?  All I heard was you asked what your limit was and the teller told you.  All credit card companies hope their cardholders will max their cards out, and then make the minimum monthly payment forever.  That's how they make most of their money, by charging interest and late fees; pretty much the same things you're complaining about.  But none of them, not a single one, is ever going to actually come out and "offer" to let you for anyone else charge the card to the limit.  That "offer" was implied when they issued you that card and told you what the limit was.  I have no idea what you think you heard, but I can guarantee that nobody ever came right out and made that offer to you, either verbally or in writing.  By the way, did you take them up on their "offer" and max your card out?

So you've never actually met this person right?  Or talked on skype or anything?  I agree with what someone else said above in the sense that a year to improve yourself will be good -- but Gabe, this is a textbook example of catfishing and the chances of "her" being real are next to zero!

Yeah because people on the internet (much less those playing a massively multiplayer online sex game) would never mislead or lie to anyone

Have you ever spoken to this "girl" over Facetime or Skype to confirm what she looked like? Also, for the record "her" last message to you seemed more like a brush off, like they got bored with "catfishing" you - Likely when they finally realized you didn't have any money.

"Catfishing is common on social networking and online dating sites. Sometimes a catfish's sole purpose is to engage in a fantasy. Sometimes, however, the catfish's intent is to defraud a victim, seek revenge or commit identity theft."

No, you need professional help because of your severe lack of maturity, basic common sense, life skills, behavioural issues and cognitive problems. This whole "girlfriend" thing is just one more example or symptom of your issues.

GET HELP.

Sure it is frustrating to read what you write here but when I say to get help...I mean it in a good way even though that is not how it always comes across but I do hope you get help.

I hope he didn't give "her" his account information.

Maybe that's where the mysterious credit card charges are coming from? hm

I assume it's like my bank.  I walk in to TD Bank to do a transaction.  They pull up my account and the teller goes "O Jaybuck43, I see here that you don't have our TD Bank Rewards Credit Card.  You're prequalified for a credit line of $25,000 with an introductory interest rate of 0.0% for the first year!  This would be a great time to apply, as you could transfer over a balance, or have extra funds for the holidays.  Would you be interested in starting the application today, it only takes a few minutes." The reason I know this whole -script by freaking heart is because it happens EVER. DAMN. TIME I go to the bank.

Mods - just lock this thread.

Maybe with the extra few hours he will then have, Gabriel can seek mental health assistance.

Because mate, you need it.

You are ill.

Quite seriously unwell in fact - to a point where reality and the internet have merged. You have no fixed point.

I cannot believe this is real either, this has to a long running prank. All of this is just way to good to be true, from the crypto currency to the online girlfriend and so on. If this is actually a prank then we should simply ignore this thread, myself included. Posting responses just feeds into the pranksters narcissism.

If this is real, we should still ignore this debacle. Nobody’s comments or advice are obviously getting through. 2c

you think we are getting punk'd ??  you might be right !

the OP is probably a brilliant mastermind who is either using us as the plot for a best selling novel,.... or just toying with us for his own amusement .

In a good or bad way?

In a bad way. You're a mess.

Easiest advice to follow is to cut out the BCD. It's a trend I've noticed while lurking.

  • Blame
  • Complain
  • Defend

Quit it.

Next best advice I can give you is to own YOUR response to any event that happens in your life. You can't control an outcome 100% but you can affect how good or bad it will be by owning your response to the event.

E + R = O

Honest advice:

Get off the internet.

Ask the mods to delete this journal.

Spend 100% of your time looking for and accepting ANY job.

Do not buy any comics, video games, cryptocurrency, or any other "collectible" or "investment".

This advice has been given a million times and he left this thread before with the CGC boards transition.   That doesn't mean the advice is any less true.  But he came back from his hiatus last time with a maxed out credit card and 'questionable' 'girlfriend'.  I vote for mental/psychological help first.
