I also have a bunch of inspirational people two of them being Walt Disney and Steve Jobs because I want to be the next rags to riches story not to the degree of Steve Jobs or Walt Disney but I want to make a million dollars buying and selling a comic and making enough money with this venture to never again say I can't afford something :)

Lame.  I'll just make up my own story then.  Utilizing your avatar...I'll guess that she lives in Ukraine, TASS reported her dead, but a few days later she showed back up on Skype perfectly alive.

Lol good story

Doesn't this seem like a contradiction?  If he's avoiding a job but building a "career", wouldn't that DQ him from further social assistance?  Makes me wonder if any of that flipping income is being reported.

No making money isn't going to disqualify me from getting social assistance. I don't make that much anymore and can make 200 per month before they start taking away from my social assistance. Yes I report what I earn

Oh I 100% assume that the flipping income is not being reported. And (to a degree) I understand why, since it's no where close to a steady revenue stream.

Well, then you're 100% wrong with that assumption. I have to report that income that I earn because if I didn't not only would I get in trouble for committing fraud and false information which would either have me hit with a heavy fine or jail time. I would also lose the social assistance and not be able to apply for it again.

Good on you then in that regard.

2. I didn't consider adding the time spent that didn't result in a purchase but only about 4 hours have been added to that. Since I'm using my money only I don't spend very long anymore going through things.

Ah so your profit came at the cost of 11 hours. So that puts you at $14.45/hour or just barely over minimum wage.

So why not get a job with the other hours in the day if you are only putting 11 hours into your hobby/business venture?

Oh and good on you for reporting the income. I happily stand corrected. I actually thought there was a chance you didnt meet some threshold for reporting, but had trouble converting that into maple syrup and antlers.

Well, it's over the course of two months but now that I know that I have to add the time of everything else spent into my calculations I'll be doing better now.

Since this is a tourist location everything is pretty much fast-paced here save the office jobs or stuff that needs to be done carefully. I still remember that job where I worked at Kelsey's as a dishwasher and it was fine for the most part except for when the head chef called everyone and discussed what would be happening, she was saying things a mile a minute and so many things at once I couldn't even keep up much less remember or do all she asked.

There were a few times that I didn't report my income not because I was trying to hide it but because I didn't know if it was significant or not to them. So as soon as I realized it I told them, we went over the income statement, corrected it and everything was good. Though it taught me that I should leave things to chance and always ask them if I'm not sure.

If I didn't have money I wouldn't have purchased anything. I will continue to make purchases regardless.

You gave me an interesting idea for a game so I'll explain how it will work. I will list the total of my debt here and if by the end of the year the amount of my investment doesn't exceed the total amount of my debt I will admit to everyone here they were right.

If you really want to impress us Gabe, get a full time job and keep it.  Deal in comics on the side.

I'm done trying to impress the boardies as that's what I've been doing up until recently. This is my journal and my journey. I've already explained what I wanted to do so if you forgot just go back a few pages and read it.

Updates

Video game losses

$301.72 USD

Thrift shop purchase losses

$400 USD

The inventory will be calculated later but it will be nowhere near enough to recover my costs. Everything has nearly been thrown out due to renovations and I can't in good conscience sell something with drywall dust on it even if I had been able to clean it I still wouldn't sell it. That's all I wish to say about this.

Wow dude, sorry

 That's a big hit.

Were the renovations not communicated to you? (remind me are you at home or in your own apartment?)

And you’ve lost how much in the CryptoCon arena on top of this?

They were and I had the shelf moved far away from the renovations, told them multiple times not to get close to it, and it had a protective covering over the entire thing.

Why not stay on top of it yourself throughout the year?

Like getting my taxes in order every 3 months?

No, I mean watching the value of your holdings throughout the year.  If you're only finding out at tax time how much you've gained or lost, then you're doing yourself a disservice.

Oh, that's what you meant. I thought you were talking about the actual taxes themselves. I do check in on what my earnings and losses are but totaling them together is what I do before taxes happen. It's something I need to get in the habit of doing more often.

Wait, what?  This isn't rocket science.  Before Christmas I bought more Shell stock at $57.00 a share.  Today it's at $62.22.  That means i'm up $5.22 per share.  Whether I bought 1 share or 10,000 shares doesn't matter.  With Crypto you're either up or you're down.  Unless you are day trading Crypto, you should rather quickly have an idea on how you're doing.    Given that the entire market is down like 87% from the start of last year to today, you almost certainly are down.

No, you're right but I have multiple accounts, wallet addresses and so on. It's gonna be a pain to get this all in order for the year of 2018 and not something  I'll do in one day but it will get done.

Sounds like you’re making it too difficult on yourself.  Much easier to have all your holdings under one roof.  Though admittedly I wouldn’t trust those crypto exchanges worth a :censored:.

Well, it would take me a few days to get everything together. If you're talking about having all my crypto on one exchange that's not a good idea but if you're talking about having it in my wallet it's not something I do often because if an opportunity for gains happens I want to already have it on the exchange to go instead of waiting
