Hi there hope you’re well I’m just listing my raw collection to get a rough idea of grades and what to send to CGC, please could you spare a moment to grade my Silver Surfer 3 1st appearance of mephisto. The comic hasn’t been cleaned or pressed no detached staples or cut outs or missing pages

And here's another stamp from a book I got from the same seller: My Defenders (signed by Englehart) say Passport Book Store This Captain America (signed by Kirby) says Passport Book Shop I'm assuming it's the same - but would love confirmation!

I never read the captions of that cover befor now. Pretty funny. I recognize Ronny and Errol Flynn, the 3rd guy I think is Peter Lawford. Blonde right I think is Lana Turner. other blonde possibly Ginger Rogers. Girl on top possibly Judy Garland. I don't know but our dad's would be able to say in a heartbeat.

Fantastic. I love em both. I was wondering looking through those digest covers which ones Modest Stein had done. I noticed this one in a recent auction and thought it mighty strange: Of course, I mostly know Stein from his Love Story covers which are very different from this stuff I mean to go through all of The Shadow covers and pick out some favorites from the recent discussion on "classic" covers, I know there's a good number I really like that aren't necessarily the "great" ones.

As a result she didn't do any Aquaman covers. But what puzzles me is why/how Nick Cardy was chosen to take over Aquaman when Fradon went on maternity leave. Lee Elias had been drawing Green Arrow stories up to and including Adventure Comics 269 and looked to my eyes as the most natural replacement Aquaman artist. His characters looked very similar to Fradon's and I think he would have nailed Aquaman. Look at these examples: Aquaman by Roberta Fradon Green Arrow by Lee Elias

The company won't be stripped of these characters. They can continue to produce Superman & Batman comics just like they've always done. And they will also have a huge advantage over others using those characters because DC has superior distribution channels and commands more and better shelf space. Just because someone writes their own Batman comic doesn't mean that they'll be able to get comic stores to carry their comic, or imagine trying to sell it directly online and get a Google search result for your Batman comic to appear ahead of all of the search results relating to the DC Batman. Similarly, just because somebody wants to make a Batman movie doesn't mean that they'll be able to get a studio to do it or to distribute it.

You've caught me in a bad spot here, I'd been looking at the covers and the illos. I'm not really a fan of the stories but admit I need to give them a better chance (and hero pulps in general...) That line-drawn cover is awesome.
