  3. In no particular order: Yes, no,no,no,yes, yes, yes and yes.
  4. Bingo! Finally decided to have it graded since it was too nice of a copy to read and I figured if I ever sell it then it should be graded. Came back a 9.8 so I guess either the rest of the book was that nice or the printers crease wasn't counted as a defect. This was a really nice looking book raw and the crease was small, pretty much unnoticeable in the CGC case. Honestly, I think this book presented much nicer in hand and in the case than other 9.8's with smaller defects (small bends, small spine tick, extra ink from manufacturer). Just figured I would post in case people were curious about PC and how they affect grading. You can see the PC clearly in the original post above.
  5. Yeah, but I never thought of the Living Tribunal as a key character...
  6. where are our international brethren, many of whom are bound to have seen it by now?!?!?!
  7. You're still young, Chris. I'm 65 now, and have already sold off my entire collection of SA slabs, along with the first few longboxes of Bronze and Copper comics that I bought off the rack. So the mindset of being in a selling mode to raise the cash and free the space is already familiar.
  8. So... Interesting... As I have mentioned I only use the eBay Global Shipping Program to ship internationally. The fees were quite prohibitive especially for a $90 comic book. However, there is absolutely no way I am shipping anything to Brazil without the extra layer of protection that is offered. Aside from that, my fees are assessed only at the $90 as well as the $9 part of the shipping and handling that it costs to send it to Kentucky. I know GSP is not a favorite of many people but for many areas of the world, it is the only method I will use to ship it to certain nations.
  9. Comic wise, I would say no. There are usually a few people with ‘80s-90’s picked over books. I have on real rare occasions bumped into a few decent ones but hardly ever and there seem to be a lot of competition. I do find other stuff like toys, advertising and sports stuff. If I make 3 purchases, I consider myself lucky. All the flea markets and swap meets have turned into bad garage sales. Right place, right time though. Seems like I do it more for the exercise... Best one for comics is usually the Rose Bowl (2nd Sunday). Gotta be there early and move though.
  10. Yeah I hear you. It would be tempting. I think you'll miss them. Downgrade if you can stand the lower grade. I had put together the Steranko/Adams run of X Men in 9.6 many years ago. This was early days of CGC when they weren't so readily available, took me forever to get a 59 at the time as they just didn't come up much and there were only 3-4 on the census. Anyhow, 9-10 years ago those books got hot for a split second and were for some inexplicable reason selling well over $1K each with some pushing $2K. I sold. Regretted selling almost immediately even though I did quite well with them on CL. Started buying them back a couple of years later. Luckily they had calmed down quite a bit so I was able to buy them back at quite a bit less than I sold but the fact remains that I missed them almost immediately and those books were much, much easier to find in high grade than some of the PF books so you may have a hard time replacing them if you find that you want to.
  11. Thanks, presents well in the case. My feelings on this book were pretty good but I always need/appreciate the help.
  12. Supposedly what Bran may have influenced with his powers leading to that massive stockpile.
  13. YAY participation awards! I think you're right. I think it's going to be 5-10 mm. And not because it crosses over into "fine art" interests.. because I don't really think it does.. But because good, old-fashioned, mega-wealthy, Nerds want it. Lucas, as you've said, plus I'm sure a number of other similarly well of fan boys who just really geek over Frazetta, and want to let loose that salvo.
  14. It depends if the dent has broken color or not. It does look deep.
  15. As with most situations, the decision to submit for grading depends on the estimated grades of the individual books. You are not giving us much to work on, like pics, so it is difficult to answer you.
  16. 5.5 or 6.0. Has that book been pressed? The square binding on the bottom left corner looks pretty flat compared to the top binding.
  17. this could be the ultimate horror-esque cover stuck in the middle of a run....Spooky awesome!!
