Unlimited value turnaround time
Jgod777 replied to Vegabomb's topic in Comic Book Grading and Restoration Issues
Vegabomb, I am just curious if your books shipped yet. I submitted two pulps at the UV tier that were placed in the CGC system on 4/11. They have been sitting on the "Grading/Quality Control" status since Monday and, like you, I would have expected the status to change within 2 business days if that is the current turnaround time CGC advertises. -

Mike, sadly, is no longer with us, and I don't know where he got his information. I trust GCD more because a lot art indexers did support it, and they record alternate opinions and reasoning behind the credits. We've come a very long way, but there are still a lot of credits to correct, and lot of credits to be discovered.

M&J was hyuuuuuge, making Fisher a very wealthy man. He ultimately outsourced production of the strip while taking in the vast majority of the revenue which included licensing deals. I have read that Bob Kane's objective was to be in a similar position, which is why he was fine with outsourcing Batman art but tried to keep his name front and center in the published comics.

Warlord mini comic 1983 remco value?
ADAMANTIUM replied to wolverine180's topic in Copper Age Comic Books
Hmmm... I "Googled" that as the kids say, and can't find anything related to a comics convention (even when I added that to the search). Is that a comics convention? Sorry if this is a dense question, I just joined this forum to try to hunt down this comic and know nothing about grading comics. lower left as in a directional area of a cover, that corner -

I know this is an old thread, but I'm just seeing it for the first time. When I was a kid in the early 1980s, I got virtually all of my comics from "Marvel Multi-Mags" that were on the spinner rack at our local Stater Bros. supermarket. I am quite certain that the "Marvel Multi-Mags" multipacks were distributed by Curtis Circulation. Over the course of four or five years, I bought more than a hundred of these multipacks and still have quite a few of those books in my collection. Every single book in every single pack was a Curtis Circulation "newsstand" copy. Any other non-Marvel Multi-Mag multipack that I've seen had the early Marvel direct diamond price box. I've never seen a CC newsstand book in a non-Marvel Multi-Mag multipack. Skwerl, a belated thanks for your input on these topics. You've clearly done your research.

LB Cole Romance Poll Complaints
adamstrange replied to adamstrange's topic in Golden Age Comic Books
We have run multi-round polls in the past and I think that people get tired of them before the last round happens. The advantage to that approach is that it would allow us to better judge the consensus position of all 20 covers. For example, I only get to choose 8 covers and can't indicate which of those I like better than the others. I am not giving any input on how much I like the other 12. My hope is that the 8 selection approach works. If it doesn't, we can try a different one. -
Best way to get a complete comic book
BA773 replied to adamgf01's topic in Newbie Comic Collecting Questions
Same as you, low grade is fine but an incomplete book is just inacceptable... id prefer 100× a ripped cover but a complete book rather than the contrary. I have maybe another option but i have any idea of Marvel books value so... What about selling your book and buy a complete one with the funds? How much could be the additional money in the process? Because if its a reasonable ammount that s probably the best way. -

LB Cole Romance Poll Complaints
adamstrange replied to adamstrange's topic in Golden Age Comic Books
I think this is a good teenager cover, but I still consider a lesser effort from Cole. It's unnecessarily busy, the color design is rather drab, and the gal in the green suit has an unattractive face. -
Honneslty excuse me but this topic drifted for a while now so you will not be irritated if i continue in this way... So after months of investigation i still dont get something... why would you overpaid books... just why? I mean at best you could hope to get your books for 5× the market value with MHC, so, just WHY?

I'm hoping people will be more careful with their votes in this final round. Clearly, only those who are sleep deprived, distracted, or consuming recreational pharmaceuticals would have failed to nominate such a great cover. -

This Week in Your Bronze Age Collection!!
Math Teacher replied to TupennyConan's topic in Bronze Age Comic Books
I recently purchased this book from @Professor K: Incredible Hulk #181 CGC 9.0. I cannot begin to thank @Professor K enough for this purchase. First, he allowed me to purchase this book using time payments; I would have never been able to afford it otherwise. Second, he meticulously planned for everything, going as far as providing me the name of friend who could complete the deal in case of his death. Third, his communication throughout the whole transaction was superb. Four, he had the book packaged so well that I honestly believe that it would have survived a nuclear explosion. -
