  2. Yeah. Sgt Slaughter was a WWF wrestler and then became a GI Joe. I would think a Cobra Crimson Guard would be a good starting point but I lost track of the Joes after around 1986ish. I know it's not version one but maybe a later version or some other red Cobra guy? Usually it takes a kit bash as well as some putty and sculpting.
  3. Nude On Thin Ice by Gil Brewer Avon T-470 Paperback original, first print 1960 $70 Pretty, glossy copy. Slight spine slant, a few light bends, small chip on back.
  4. BINGO... have you ever watched the older episodes of American Pickers? *BUNDLE BUNDLE BUNDLE*... it's a great way to spread the real vs perceived value of some items across more variables/items. Maybe you think XYZ Comic #2 is worth $10, but XYZ Comic #3 is worth $28. Someone else may think the reverse, so if you bundle them at $31-35, that comes off seeming like a good deal to the buyer and seller since you never know exactly how they perceive the individual item values vs the collective values ...
  5. Would have been more convincing if Lothar was holding it.

  7. Just completed the 2nd Ballantine Tarzan series with Robert Abbett covers. I was surprised they only published the 1st 18 books. The 3rd series with the white borders used the Abbett covers for the 1st 18 and the Richard Powers covers from the 1st series were used for the last 6. I don’t really care for the Powers covers but I’ll probably pick up the 1st series someday. I definitely want the 4th series with the Adams and Boris covers.
  8. Somewhere in this House by Rufus King Popular Library No. 276 1950 $25 Another nice "Killer" Belarski cover, switchblade this time. Tight and glossy. Has slight slant, a very faint reader crease and very light wear. A gorgeous cover
  9. maybe it was pressed by previous owner ...but I dont remember any 'crunch' upon receiving the raw..I did not use any pressing service

  11. Why you, or I, (or anyone) should find it necessary to defend or justify this transaction is utterly nonsensical. The thread was up for days, and multiple people made multiple purchases. The recap post was up for 10 hours before I sent the PM. But honestly, what difference does that even make? If I had seen the thread sooner, my stack may have been even higher! Do I have to ask permission from the lurkers in order to buy a book on a forum for buying/selling books? Or you apologize for selling them? What Bizarro World is this?
  12. While Murder Waits by John Esteven Popular Library No. 343 1951 $25 Real nice copy of a "Killer" Belarski cover Square, tight and glossy with a faint reader crease and a little indent to back spine area.
  13. Funny as heck! Even funnier, I actually lived in a place as a kid that looked very similar to that! A few do look like some of my cousins....
  14. That Fight cover is of of my favorite in the run! You're dead on about the color though, but you got a good one!
  15. A prime time hit for Hanna and Barbera! 1 2
  16. I keep looking at these. I think preservation of the covers more than trades with the trimming -it's a really neat presentation the smaller issues. The digest-sized Shadows are underrated.
  17. Scored these today in a trade with a local guy. Blinding colors! Don’t have time to go through my FH Jungle and Jumbo comics but these covers seem real familiar. Possible swipes? I have a handful of very high grade Jungle pulps. Due to their traditional low values, now might be a good time to have some of them graded.
  18. The Shrinking Man by Richard Matheson, Gold Medal S577 1956 $40 True First Edition of this noted horror novel. Classic cover art by Mitchell Hooks Even more widely known for the movie which came out a year after the book. The film’s title was changed to "The Incredible Shrinking Man" A nice copy overall. Glossy and fresh.. Has slight slant, fairly light reader crease, otherwise light bends and edgewear.
  19. I think 4.5 is a good guess. Love the comic. Don't own it but had the Treasury Size "Batman's Strangest Cases" as a kid!
  20. I'm not big time dealer with lots of expensive books to sell, but I price with discount in mind and know how low I'm willing to go on any given item - bigger discounts for people spending more money, and people who have bought from me previously has worked for me thus far. And yes, I will absolutely match an eBay price if it seems legitimately comparable - I don't expect folks to overpay for the privilege of buying it from me when they could get it online for a much better price.
