  2. So I have been collecting comic art for only about 4 years and I love it! However, there are times where I don't love it...prices too high, a page I really liked sold, ridiculously high prices on recent flipped pages, etc. I have been mainly buying published pages around $500 and I have been enjoying the ones I have purchased. However, I feel like I want to take the next step and buy more expensive pages and/or pages from more well known artists. Ultimately, I am conflicted...I like & enjoy the pages I buy, but is my desire to want better quality/more expensive pages a true natural progression in this hobby? I'm not talking big dollars...$1K to $2K. AND In your opinion, is it better to buy pages (most likely more expensive) from more popular artists with maybe less action/less main characters or cheaper pages with better action/main characters? I'm looking to keep all pages I have & not sell them as an investment fyi. I know and have read "buy what you like" and really have adopted that philosophy, but I am curious your opinion what your progression was/is... Thanks for your input/feedback

  4. Here is the GPA data for CGC 8.0 FF 52. Still a good time to buy and sell. As always you need to pick your spots and don’t sweat getting it wrong every now and again.
  5. Thats really nice and a pity about the top left, I think its a tough book in nice grade, I have upgraded this book a number of times and never been happy with what I got. I think this is my best copy but still not happy and will go again if I see another and the price is right. A couple of others that have stamps just to keep my post legit. All pretty scabby I guess, I just never come across a real nice copy in the UK
  6. Hey Mattn - just posting this response here. Thanks for the DM chat. I think everyone is concerned with who is legit and who is not or has an "ulterior motive". And to those reading this, yeah its not good to let one person or even a small group of people to take over and be the 'savior' for everyone. Don't expect any silver bullets here. If someone is asking for money be cautious. Even if it is not the person everyone is pointing too. I mean, you could find a bad lawyer milking you too. Just do your research and don't get burned again.
  7. Rich and I were both looking for nice copies of Scrooge #6 at one stage and talked a bit about it. I ended up with a 6.5 as well, and there aren't too many higher copies on the census, last time I looked.
  8. So you would pay $75 extra for getting in a half hour early each day and a t-shirt, tote bag and a print. I'd not do it currently to get in a half hour early since the room is huge so everything won't be picked over when the regulars get in and it's not like there is a new hot book you will be running around the room looking to pull from boxes. So is the other stuff worth $75 is the question. My answer would be no for me.
  9. never mind - I replied to something that had already been answered
  10. So more news from my end - I had another person contact me from the website. As you know - I'm not a lawyer, and I don't play one on television, but here is what I recommended: I'd say fill out a complaint with the Oregon DOJ, consult a lawyer (Free consultation) and call the Oregon Police department to open a case. . https://www.doj.state.or.us/consumer-protection/sales-scams-fraud/report-scams-fraud/ https://www.ci.lebanon.or.us/police Also, I was able to find my book was sold here: https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_ssn=geekbay_since_2003&LH_Sold=1&LH_Complete=1 This was sold without my knowledge or authorization. Others have reported the same, and the ebay account leads back to Mike. I'd also recommend reviewing the chat board - there is a lot of information there that sometimes get buried. https://boards.cgccomics.com/topic/529515-hero-restoration-anyone-know-the-latest/page/62/#comment-13136443 I'm an IT guy, so if you are not comfortable following the links I sent - feel free to do your own research. I'm including Krisit's information from the DOJ. She seems to be actively investigating this, and others have gotten responses and or updates from her. I think its a good start! 11. I think most if not all of those books were printed in Australia for the NZ market, often with different cover prices and sometimes different page counts. It's a bit of a minefield for collectors - and then there are the UK versions...
  12. I am short 17 issues from 149 - 523, the latest issue I need is #260, there was a reasonably priced one on here a few months ago but I dithered when I should have grabbed it, it can be pricey due to Aquaman origin I wont ever complete this and most DC titles, but c'mon you gotta try
  13. I think they will go below 2019 prices for many issues. Maybe not the mega keys as people will buy when they perceive a good deal is on.. they might bottom out at pre-covid prices for the mega keys but the others I feel will fall below. I can see it in many non mega key issues I wonder if many collectors are selling their Silver and Bronze and getting out or switching to buying a few Golden Age keys for many Silver....?
  14. One more, this time with the photo cover. FP14, reprints Four Color #712
