  1. New one in today. Didn't have that little chip bottom left before being shipped by a novice seller (and it could have been worse considering how it was shipped), but whatcanyado, ain't kickin the poor girl out or anything You don't want to get on her bad side, anyways o.O

  3. A few books from a box. Truthfully I have no idea what is rare and what is common as dirt. Just a buyer when opportunity has knocked.

  4. Looooooooks like I've missed way too much to catch up, so I guess here is as good a place to start as any ....

  5. That sweet feeling of crossing one off the list (metaphorically, I have an app and not a physical list, but still feels good)

  6. Was busy last night winning a few upgrades off of both Heritage and CL. Toss in a Ebay win as well. 151 in a decent grade was eluding me in any of the comic auction sites.

  7. Well, somebody’s got to follow that.

  8. Honestly, beats me too! But I do think it’s restored by virtue of no salesmanship for the book. That would not be possible if it was a HG unrestored copy in that apparent condition. We’d be getting a torrent of Metro pumping. As would any auction house.

  9. Here are scans of three more of my Fox and the Crow comics: Despite being forced off the cover of their own title, the majority of the stories in the comics above were "Fox and the Crow" stories. Stanley and His Monster though were steadily commanding more of the pages.

  10. Just happened to come across this at MCS earlier tonight, sure looks like the swipe source (not mention a neat book). Swipe is no knock here - Belarski's is a vast improvement art-wise, just obvious "inspiration": Just a bit more info at another seller here: https://www.yesterdaysgallery.com/pages/books/8204/fritz-lang-thea-von-harbou/the-rocket-to-the-moon

  13. That's what I'm talking about. So much more clothing to discuss. She came for the ring, but she's stays for the tie. Great idea actually. A clothing store called L.B. Cole's. Specializing in loud, flamboyant apparel with bright and unusual color combinations for men........ and women.

  14. A Mail Call for the Ages! Last month (in the ComicConnect auction) we saw the liquidation of one of the great EC Collections out there, as part of the "PACole" collection (as some of you surely know, his ECs represented only one of his many uber-impressive collecting strands) . @Pacole (aka Phil, who happens to be a boardie) and I go back a ways as collecting buddies - when he was building his collection back in the day, he bought a bunch of my EC undercopies behind the scenes (and he helped me out with a few books here and there, as well). He was also able to amass a bunch of pre-trend books that I have been coveting for years. He messaged me not too long ago to let me know that he was finally "ripping the band-aid off" and auctioning his entire collection (not just his ECs...everything!)...but that message came after the books were already in the hands of ComicConnect . I understand... As for the auction...Phil was auctioning so many books, I had to pick my battles going in. Gunfighter was the main battle I decided to pick, and it worked out OK. Phil, we'll miss you. Enjoy life, my friend. I feel privileged that I could drag a few more of your books into my collection on your way out...here's the haul (arrived today):

  15. I got a new emoji I've never gotten and I'm not going to share it because I'm instead going to go sit and obsess over what it means and I just knew I shouldn't have submitted my grades so early this round so I'm only going to type in run-on sentences while I obsess over this new emoji because I'm very worried but somehow slightly optimistic which makes no sense but also kinda does and I have no clue what I'm doing in this contest at this point...

  16. My son has been taking his old (non valuable) GI Joes and turning them into Deadpools. Pretty cool. He 3D prints the swords and sheaths and theey fit perfectly into the back pegs

  20. Picked this nice copy up here on the Boards. Interesting back-story of being a Vietnam Vet's copy which was kept in a dresser drawer (which is how I "stored" my comics throughout the 1970s) and which his mom discovered after he'd moved away. Don't know if it's true, but it does sound plausible.

Need help with a Stamp ID

That looks a lot like a reasonably common heraldic motif of a cross with crossed swords behind. A bit of Googling shows versions with Maltese crosses, Celtic crosses and even the Bulgarian Air Force circa 1940 used a similar image (below)! So I'd say that's almost certainly been put there by a previous owner who happened to own the stamp, possibly as a 'this one is mine' mark, rather than a store or distributor.

  27. I am a bit familiar with the Italian stamps alone, mostly date ones, and this one does not seem to be an Italian stamp. Primetime explanation seems the best one to me.

  30. Tone took a Walking Dead blank, but wasn’t sure what to do with it. I suggested maybe Homer fighting zombies, like in the classic Treehouse of Horror episode. Bart says “Dad, you killed zombie Flanders!” Homer’s response is “He was a zombie?” What Tone came up with is a little different…

  31. I have been able to meet Tone Rodriguez at several shows, and gotten several sketch covers done by him. These are from Fan Expo Boston 2021.

  32. Ok, time to start showing my Simpsons sketch covers, with a few Futurama as well. I like to let the artist choose the sketch cover, and then give them creative freedom to do whatever they want. I’ve been very happy with the results. First up is one from Ty Templeton, from Fan Expo Boston 2019.
