  1. Both of the guys told me at San Diego that they would not be attending NYCC this year, unless one of the companies they are working with decided to fly them in at the last minute to promote something. With 5 weeks out from the show, I doubt it is going to happen at this point.

  5. If you haven't already looked at the back cover of Issue 150 to make sure your book is a 9.8 you might see my Splash Page Comic Art ad for Charlie's original art. Big props to Big Clutch & Robert for making it happen in this issue! Yes, that's me. Sorry for the pic of my mug, but at least y'all can recognize me at SDCC & NYCC. On a sidenote, WD 150 art is up to look at. Thanks Mark Hay Splash Page Comic Art www.splashpageart.com
  6. Hey Guys, Stefano Gaudiano and I are last minute adds to the North Carolina show next weekend. I mentioned all the details in the original art section of the CGC forum in case anyone wants to look at WD 148 originals and new covers. Details on my website about Stefano sketching/signing. Thanks Mark Hay Splash Page Comic Art
  7. I didn't have Charlie's pencils until he presented them to me in San Jose, which is where it sold, so I do not have a scan of them... I'm afraid you will have to hope the new owner posts them on CAF. I've got a scan of the inks... just not the pencils. Mark
  8. Retro, I can't speak to whether these pieces will be used other than as promotional pieces for the story arc. One never knows whether they'll be used for something else done the road, but their original intention is to promote the new story arc. Yes, I will have them available for sale. Yes, I have already received multiple requests if there are certain characters. Yes, I'll probably make them all "make offer". No, I can't tell anyone what the characters will be until they appear in the public. In unrelated news, Charlie offered a 2 character sketch up for charity as part of the Big Wow Comic Fest Auction that I ran for the show on Saturday Night. Apparently people had spent what they had already, or were being cheap so I won the auction. Here is what Charlie came up with for me: I didn't have a Michonne piece by him so I figured it was a good choice. Mark
  9. Carl Elvis, I could pose that question to them, but ultimately that type of project would be up to Robert to initiate. They might have an opinion on whether they'd be interested in doing it, but it would be Robert's call. Mark
  10. Hey Guys, For you all that haven't heard, Charlie Adlard and Stefano Gaudiano will be guests at Big Wow Comic Fest on May 17 & 18th in San Jose California. www.bigwowcomicfest.com I am going to be moderating a panel with Charlie and Stefano at the con. The panel subject will be: Drawing the Walking Dead Artist, Charlie Adlard, and inker Stefano Gaudiano discuss what it is like to create the images behind the hugely successful comic and tv series The Walking Dead. Charlie will explain how his art style has evolved during his tenure on the book and how having an inker allows him to work differently now. Stefano, being the newest addition to the team, shares his experiences of inking Charlie and how this project differs from his vast number of other previous collaborations. They'll discuss the controversial "All Out War" storyline and how working on a near bi-weekly schedule for a year affected how they worked. I will be handling a Q&A session at the end of the panel to touch on things that I think fans of the book might want to hear. An example of something that I will pose is if they could change a direction of how a specific storyline turned out or what happened to a certain character in the book, what would it be? Since you all are rabid fans, I thought I'd ask you for suggested questions that I should ask the guys. Throw out any legitimate questions that you'd like me to pose and I'll pick a handful of the best ones to use in the panel. Perhaps I'll mention your handle as the person who asked the question live in the panel. Thanks Mark Hay Splash Page Comic Art
  11. I've read it. Pretty great stuff, huh? I'd say more, but I don't know how to use the spoiler tag thing so I don't want to ruin it for everyone. I kept score in the page descriptions again for you Retro, but I figure everyone else will be like wtf.. You are slacking though. You haven't made your public service announcement of Splash Page has pages up yet... very disappointing Mark
  12. Garf, For the record, there has NOT been a new round of upping all of the prices on the remaining Walking Dead pages that we have since the market went up 1-2 years ago 8) There were a few pages that were away at several art exhibitions in Europe for 6+ months, and were not on the website for a while until they returned to my possession. Once I got them back, I adjusted any prices that were out of whack due to the market change from when they were first priced and added them back to the website. Other than that, no increases. The last several issues do have more action, zombies and big events affecting them than many issues in the past so there are some high priced pages in them. The lesser pages are still in the $225 - $350 range, with some of those actually being pretty nice group shots and big shots of main characters. While you never know what is going to appeal to someone, there are just ok pages going to $350 - $800? solely because they are in the issue 20 range, have characters on them that are dead and on 11 x 17". http://www.ebay.com/itm/WALKING-DEAD-ORIGINAL-ART-ISSUE-22-PAGE-12-signed-Charles-Adlard-AMC-Zombie-/251416740709?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3a899b0365&nma=true&si=8oqHBGhuS3KcvSlECVUjQoP1hdA%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 and http://www.ebay.com/itm/The-Walking-Dead-REAL-ORIGINAL-COMIC-BOOK-ART-Rick-Tyrese-Dale-25-p9-Adlard-/281238587716?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item417b204944 There are people just wanting a nice page of their favorite character as something cool to frame and put on their wall so the $250 pages are perfect for that. A memorable WD moment is what all actual collectors are looking for (and zombies) so they are going to cost more or be sold already. While there are way more expensive zombie pages than in the recent past, there have been a lot better zombie pages than we've had in years so they are more expensive. It has actually lowered what we've been charging for decent zombie pages that would have been $1500 - $2000 in the past but are $900 - $1500 now. More supply of zombies, lower price. 13. Hey all you Todd & M.K. Fans- M.K. Perker is now accepting commissions. Details can be seen here: M.K. Perker Commission Information Contact information to setup a commission is contained in the link above. Thank you from Ken, M.K. and Mark at Splash Page Comic Art www.splashpageart.com
  14. Nexus, I won't go into what art Robert owns, but I think that you might have been tricked by his dry sense of humor. Robert collects certain types of pieces and while he thankfully doesn't pickup the majority of originals, he does have a collection that any of us would be envious of. I can't speak to what Tony still has, but I too have heard the rumors about him still having the #1 cover. Sigh, why do the Lions disappoint so.... I was counting on them to help my Cowboys... They started off so promising. At least the snowbowl has been fun to watch. Mark Hay Splash Page Comic Art
