  1. Love all the art pics you guys have posted. Geoff Darrow always rocks. Ken Lashley's commissions go all out especially if you pre-arrange them. I believe he kept 2 complete issues and covers for himself from his initial X-Men run but was selling the other issue through his dealer rep Albert. Who doesn't love Baby Groot? Lol. Congrats guys. I'm hesitant about attending Sunday because commission lists are already filled and many guests leave early. Ticket prices are high for a show in NJ but their guest list, even with cancellations are top notch. They may have had to pay some of the A - listers an appearance fee to draw the crowds. Cheers! N.
  2. I can't make Saturday due to last minute conflict. Unsure about Sunday. Enjoy the show everyone. Cheers! N.
  3. My nostalgia is for the character, not necessarily the specific issues of comics I read as a kid. You can still quench your thirst for nostalgia by collecting a piece of art from the modern era that is within your budget. I get just as much joy from looking at an affordable Spidey cover by Patrick Scherberger or Captain America art by Steve Epting. The quality of their art IMHO is better than many from earlier eras. The art speaks for itself. Just because the art is old, doesn't automatically mean it should be more desirable. I do not find myself chasing after art with Spider-Man battling the Rocket Racer drawn by Ross Andru and Frank Giacoa. Cheers! N.
  4. The employees at Midtown Comics (Times Sq) had no idea about a show. One of the managers knew about it but you would think there would be a sign promoting the show or selling tickets with May just around the corner. The guest list look good though. Cheers! N.
  5. NO. You STILL have to pre-register but it's easier since they already have your contact information on file. You should have received an email from them weeks ago with a LINK for you to verify that the information was still the same. Afterwards, another email is sent confirming that you are now "pre-registered" for the upcoming sale of tickets. The ticket sale date has NOT been announced yet. Check your emails or spam filter. Good luck. *** I know it's early but if anyone has an extra dealer / exhibitor badge available please PM / contact me. Thanks. Cheers! N.
  6. Thanks to everyone that contacted me. Always looking for more great artwork by Kirby and Ditko. fyi - I will stop by the East Coast Comic Con in NJ on April 29th. Anyone that wants to make a deal in person, please contact me in advance. Cheers! N.
  7. Is this new location where the show will be for the foreseeable future?
  8. The website still hasn't listed dealers / exhibitors yet. Any boardies setting up at the show? Cheers! N.
  9. Thanks for the pics DPJ. The only issue I have is no prices on the art. Everything on the wall looks great but you waste everyone's time, (including your own), if you don't have prices. How hard is it to place a post it note with the price inside the mylar? How was the new location? The room smaller or larger than the previous location? Thanks. Cheers! N.
  10. It could be unpublished due to a change in the storyline. Check with Jim Warden via CAF as he represents Larroca (spell his name correctly if you want to search google). Cheers! N.
  11. I think the $25K number is what they are fishing for. However, unless they disclose exactly what they have, I seriously doubt if anyone would put out a blind offer on mystery pages. I'm more interested in the merry go round pig than the OA. Cheers! N.
  12. Eric pretty much summed it up. There are "fresh" new to the market pages from Sad Sack priced at $10. I don't think being fresh to the market helped increase it's market value. It still comes down to demand for the product and the price. Cheers! N.
  13. WTB - Kirby / Ditko I'm always looking for quality art by Kirby or Ditko. If you have anything for sale, drop me a line - Mail AT ComicArtCollector DOT COM (you know what to do). Cheers! N.
  14. Condolences to the entire Wrightson family and all their friends. One of the artists on my Mt. Rushmore.
  15. A lot of people complain about Liefeld's anatomically challenged body parts but no one seems to notice that in both FM covers, Batman's fists are larger than his head.
  16. The guys from Comic Sketch Art were representing FM when he originally came out with the oversized commission drawings of Elektra, DK, and Sin City. They also facilitated CGC Sketch Cover Signature Series at various shows across the U.S. with FM. I believe they are still in the picture but it seems like the exclusive is over. Then came Metropolis ........ Of course, Mitch from Graphic Collectibles reps LV who owns some very nice FM published art. It originally took me awhile to warm up to FM's artistic style when DK first came out. It's definitely going to take even more time to warm up to his current style.
  17. The prices are even more aggressive than ever. I'll leave it at that. Danny has obviously coordinated his pricing with Greg. While I usually think Danny Miki is the best versatile inker from the modern era, I think Glapion is the better inker on Capullo. Looking at the brushwork, the inks around the figures look a bit heavy. I would not have thought Miki was the inker. Good luck with the sales.
  18. I know it's a bit early but ...... anyone with an extra dealer / exhibitor badge, please PM me. Thanks. Cheers! N.
  19. The infamous chupacabra Batman image. Looks like DC did a reverse image for the publication.
  20. I just took a quick look at the OA discussion topics on page 1. There are 3 active posts by NamesJay looking for contact info. 1) David Legro (this post), 2) Kevin Lau, 3) Chad Garrett See links. Namesjay is a nice guy and people are responsive in the OA Marketplace. As such, I vote for OA marketplace or comics general (if you want the most eyes) or just search google. fyi - if you contact someone on CAF, make sure you click on the checkbox to display your email address to the recipient if you want them to respond to you.
  21. I am not familiar with the issue but how do the interior pages stack up by comparison to the cover? I agree that the cover image itself is not very impressive. Does any of the art from the interior feature X-23 with her claws out? If so, those "first appearance issue pages" might actually command more than the cover. Cheers! N.
  22. While I don't like this particular cover, it certainly was an improvement over the first DKIII variant cover he drew (featuring a short squat Batman that looked like the mythical chupacabra ). If you had to twist my arm and choose, I would rather buy a Jim Lee DK III variant cover at $35K and keep the extra $20K in my pocket. As many have said, the hundreds of variant covers is a money grab by DC and some of the various artists, looking to cash in on the nostalgia of the first series. Not worth the premium IMHO. For FM fans on a budget, spend $1K and have Frank do a sketch cover that's CGC signature series where it's graded. Cheers! N.
  23. Congratulations to all sellers and buyers. Looks like the Action # 653 cover sold for $3,600+. Nice cover but it went for a lot higher than I thought. Kerry Gammil is on fire. Remember that X-Men Adventures cover that sold for $7K? Everyone including myself thought was a one off. Maybe not. Cheers! N.
