FX/Hulu's SHOGUN starring Hiroyuki Sanada (2/27/24)
I like pie replied to Bosco685's topic in The Movie Forum
I enjoyed the series as a whole. I was glued to watching each episode. However, I was expecting and more dramatic ending. Not sure if I would watch a second season. Since most of the show was subtitled, it made me wonder if they limited the audience, excluding younger generations that can't stop looking at their phones for 5 minutes at a time. -

I thought I read somewhere that it was already greenlit for season two a few days before it even released on Prime.- 83 replies

I just got around to watching this and it was actually very entertaining and clever. Definitely not for everyone.

Still not a 6.5 if that crease is the only problem but I would also assume it creased some of the interior pages.

CBS All Access's STAR TREK: DISCOVERY Show
I like pie replied to Bosco685's topic in The Movie Forum
I'm surprised the series is so divisive amongst fans yet universally praised by critics. Not my favorite series of the franchise but maybe top three or four. The Discovery has the coolest warp, hands down. -
I was enjoying this season a lot until 11. We've already been on this ride, haven't we?

Disney's PLANET OF THE APES directed by Wes Ball (TBD)
I like pie replied to Bosco685's topic in The Movie Forum
I'm really looking forward to this! All three reboot films were amazing. I hope this is just as good. -
Ooof. Such a disappointing ending. The acting throughout the entire series was excellent but the writing really fell short on sticking the landing.

MGM's ROAD HOUSE starring Jake Gyllenhaal (2024)
I like pie replied to Bosco685's topic in The Movie Forum
This could have been a decent film but Conor was just terrible. Struggled to get through it and had to watch the original to get the bad taste out of my eyes.- 26 replies

Three Body Problem on Netflix - Is there really no thread for this?
I like pie replied to piper's topic in The Movie Forum
Not quite sure what to make of it yet. It definitely held my interest but felt it needed one more episode to get some type of S1 closure. If it never gets a season 2, it was a complete waste of time. -
I wasn't a fan of this past episode. It seemed like they could have summed it up in 12 minutes but stretched it out. One more left

Going into it with very low expectations and looking at it as a movie on its own, I enjoyed it I give it a 6/10. I'd probably never watch it again but it was better than Frogman

Forgettable. Long winded and over-hyped. The acting was very good but the story was something we've all seen before.

It's a slow burn but I am enjoying it. The acting is solid and I think they will nail then ending.

I've had this happen for years. I was lucky enough that it only became a problem once, when it was marked as delivered and it must have been left at another address. I was home all day, so I know fed ex didn't come to my house. I let CGC take care of it and FedEx couldn't produce proof of delivery. It took a good two month for CGC to pay out, but I remember I had to haggle with them for the value and I had clear proof. (Paypal receipt) That's the only part that was really frustrating.

Sounds more like a one hitter trying to be relevant again. I'm not a fan of the first images but to judge a film based off of just that is silly.

I love Pedro in Mando and Last of us but I'm not digging this casting. Let's assume the MCU gets back on track and we get another good 18-20 films. By then, Pedro will be about 60. They should have gotten someone younger. However, with all the multiverse jumping, I guess they can do whatever they want and replace actors as they go.

Some great acting but I can't think of a more depressing movie to watch.

If he was the best we had, of course I'd want him out there. Even more so via your scenario. If CGC is short talented graders, it's up to Matt to decide if it better serves the company delegating his duties or getting his hands dirty.
-
He's probably one of their best graders. Why do you think that?

No doubt but there are a lot more experts in the pressing arena now than there were 20 years ago. A lot more amateurs too
