  1. I've my eye on that piece too. The full splash page to the book went for "only" 13K. Do you think the cover will double that ?
  2. I think whiteout should always be disclosed. Just pointing out that it's used, allows the buyers to scrutinize the page more before purchase. White out does not always come through in photo's, and I've gotten several pieces that had spots of whiteout (typically on the faces) that can detract (just slightly) in person.
  3. Fascinating. Always wondered why he only did the first issue. I take it that he never returned to Daredevil?
  4. Isn't this the cover that got Frank Cho fired from Wonder Woman? Crazy that it's part of the exhibit.
  5. Show off! Of course you didn't get Len to sign it. Sheesh, kids! So impressive! Is it on paper or board? Any production markings on the back?
  6. That circles back to my OP. The artist credits change based on who you ask - and when you ask them.
  7. I'm a casual Spidey fan (not the target audience for this auction) and would take ASM 121 heads and shoulders above 100. And would place Gwen's death way above his growing extra limbs. Plus would take the 101 cover over 100.
  8. It sounds like his studio had a lot of involvement on his later (early 1970s) DC comics. How do you (and collectors) view the books that Neal oversaw (but did not completely draw)? Is there a clear delineation between comics illustrated by Neal, and ones he art directed? (like the Daredevil books that Miller only provided layouts )
  9. personalized Thanks for posting the image. The personalization could be far worse, at least its under the art. Is the inset Catwoman an original? I LOVE Aparo's Catwoman, its so great to see this cover. You have many wonderful memories from SDCC. Jerry Robinson's prices were really ahead of its time. Just a few years ago he was charging 100-200 for Batman or Joker head sketches. But he only would draw Batman, Robin or the Joker. He had slowed down quite a bit, but it was such an honor to meet him.
  10. Thanks for sharing! I don't mind seeing Bob's signature on Batman art/books (especially since he didn't sign in the art). It's like Stan Lee now, people got him to sign everything they can. I've heard Bob was a real showman, he was probably a natural for comicon. I'm still floored that the cover was only $100 back then. (where's my time machine?) Do you you still have the cover? Did Bob draw you the bat on the facing page, too?
  11. Neal shared some of his layouts to the Peter Pan story in Batman Illustrated vol 3. Did continuity typically work off his layouts, when penciling/inking? Did he tend to work on the faces/closeups (like Bob Kane did)
  12. Scott, I appreciate your input. You included the 234 page as not being by Neal. Which Batman stories do you attribute to Neal?
  13. That makes sense. I read somewhere, that the Peter Pan story was rushed, thats why he went back and re-inked several panels when it was published in batman illustrated vol 3. I found the description here: Neal Adams site Hm, also the story from the OP was reportedly never returned (stolen?)... Will Neal agree to sign stolen pages?
  14. Thanks How did they work differently, did Neal have more feathering and lines on the faces?
  15. Heritage has been auctioning off all the pages from the Peter Pan / Power records Batman & Joker story. This is one of the stories that Neal “George Lucas’d” with new inks, when it was reprinted in the 2000’s. Heritage attribute this story to Neal and D-ick, but Neal’s illustrated Batman book attributes the art entirely to Neal. For you Neal Adams fans, who do you think was handled inking duties on the original art? Batman Staked Cards page 17
  16. They've been selling them on ebay for a long time. I see no reason to doubt that it's the estate. - Anthony (not a Norem collector, but waiting for his He-Man prelims)
  17. Wow!! Thanks for sharing! I love that you kept the story together all these years. Did you get it directly from the Wrightsons? Did they or Len provide any other insights on where the story was headed?
  18. Thanks for posting the feedback. I didn't realize our comments would be sent to/address by Spencer. The new website is great news! Not sure that he mentioned it, but will he only be selling art that he physically has in hand, going forward?
  19. Ditto. Hearing that gives me complex. I feel like he prioritizes collectors/friends over people he doesn't know. (which may not be the case) Its typically taken 2 weeks to get a reply during the sale. He'd only reply on Sunday, so if I didn't hear by Sunday night I'd know that its another week of waiting.
  20. Wasn't he representing Joe Quesada? Is Joe no longer selling his art? His artists stable seems to have shrunk.
  21. Hm, Comiclink also mentions Romita as the Primary Artist. When in this very board it's attributed to
  22. I could never apply your first rule, it's fun to see what I've spent over time, such as on con sketches 15 years ago. Plus sometimes I need to curtail spending...
