  1. Damn, did Albert let you suggest multiple characters for Bruce to pick from ? Or was it a flat NO
  2. What a pickup! Iconic shots by the great JR!
  3. Batman Vs Joker by Neal Adams and by Jim Lee And from the non-big two Pete Stancheck vs Toyo Harada (Harbinger) and the WildCATS vs Helspont (a color guide)
  4. They do NOT come up often. Most people with early valiant art, tend to hold onto them. Congrats on the new art!
  5. Adam's commissions were prebooked, his prices were: 5.5 x 8.5 inch (bust) $1000 9 x 12 inch (3/4 figure) $2000 12 x 18 inch $4000
  6. Beautiful! I would like something similar. What size is the paper?
  7. It's hard to look at the piece with fresh eyes, now. I wonder what the original commissioner didn't like about the piece. Not dynamic enough? And did he get another commission in it's place?
  8. You can just contact CAF, Bill Cox will let you know. I've asked about this before with other forgeries, and CAF hot auctions are automated. They don't manually choose the auctions.
  9. I love them, they’re often tight and drawn full sized, and cost a fraction of the published art ( 5-15% ) . So that fits my budget Here are are some of my favs
  10. Honestly , this thread and all the posts from the comic art expo left me very jealous Very happy to finally obtain my first inked Mignola sketch
  11. Mike Mignola already confirmed (on facebook) that it's a FAKE. This seller sold another fake Hellboy a week or 2 back.
  12. Seems like most are setup in advance through his agent, or they bring a bunch of predone and you can choose. His quick Batman head sketch runs from 250-500, but occasionally he still sneaks in a free one.
  13. Feel free to share pics in the Mignola art thread
  14. My guess is No. But then it sells off-ebay, from watchers making an offer.
  15. Here’s my only published Mignola, a page from the first Hellboy miniseries. And a couple free sketches Mike was willing to draw.
  16. I second Dave's recommendation, Joe Mendoza has a long history with Image comics, and Chiodo's colors on cardstock are frame worthy. He was working from a full color palette and it really shows in his work.
  17. Maybe the art passed through one of the dealers (Anthony Snyder/Burkey) did you check with them? Also, offering a finder's fee may help uncover the art.
  18. I’ve seen similar results before. Makes you wonder
  19. Do sellers have the ability to withdraw art, if concerned that it won’t sell high? I hope not. Albert had it for 10k, earlier as I recall. Would it have gone that high?
  20. Yikes - I bet he got a hundred requests. That's a lot more work, replying to all those people.
  21. Has anyone heard back from Spencer on their Artist's Choice order ? I know it's less than a month, but I'm getting antsy.
  22. What fakes have you seen? I’m sure headsketches are sometimes faked, but are there specific pieces we should avoid? As for the OP, just wait till the California shows, when reputable dealers buy and then resell his sketches. To give you some idea on prices, Bruce sells his headsketches for $100 and Albert sells b&w prelims for about $350-750.
  23. Hi @NicoV I love using the comic art tracker, and one of my favorite features is the New art by Source screen. The screen displays each source, with a "newly listed" number. But when I look for the details, many of the sources return return no results. Like right now Illustration Art Gallery says 69 newly listed, and Comic Art Store has 33 newly listed. But when go to View the recently listed art, the New comic art screen shows no results. Is this a known issue? I am using Chrome (on iphone X) Thanks
  24. I visited years ago, it was surprisingly easy to make an appointment. Interesting that she now confirms that all three - Marie, Stan, and Steve - were not the donor. Good for her, adhering to the donor's wishes.
