  1. "Attack of the Show" just reported during their "Fresh Ink" segment that Cory Walker is returning to the book with issue #66 for a 2 part Vultrimite story. It's suppose to set the stage for a the Vultrimite War that will either take place or conclude with issue #75.

i hope its only for two books  i cringed a little when i read this....I would SORELY miss ottley's work :(

  2. Considering I just received an email from him today, asking what he ever did to me, I will state: officially he has never done anything to me. Except buy a book I really wanted. :(

    :(

nick: i'm sure his email was very interesting...i would very much like to read his email, and your response :foryou: would you mind forwarding it to me :)

jad: what are you frowning about? has mr. 'comics_4_dummies' been e-mailing you as well? (:

Well actually I received quite a few. Including several offers to buy my copy. Hmmm

i bet he quoted old GPA prices lol

Isn't that what you did when you tried to buy mine? :baiting:

What did i offer you? wasn't it my 9.2 plus $1k?

this dude wanted to buy my 9.2 from me for $300ish

  3. :gossip: You misunderstood the intention of my post. I have no problems with certain people paying certain people whatever price they want. I just find it interesting, the idea that a small group of sellers can create a pocket market on the boards when the books are readily available (by other people that can grade well too) on other sites for much cheaper. It's something I wonder about sometimes, that's all hm

What you should wonder about is why these people are getting those sales when everyone here knows how to use eBay and all the other venues offering "cheaper" alternatives. Everyone here knows how to use a computer and Google, so they know how to find comic book sales sites.

If you think sellers' prices are too high here on the board, then they probably won't get the sale. But, as Michael already pointed out, there are some people (myself included) who will pay more for a book here than on eBay just to save myself the eventual hassle of sending back an "eBay NM." People here provide huge scans upon request and are usually super-easy about returns. To me, if I have to pay a couple of extra bucks for a book I know I'll be happy with, it's worth it to me.

However, I would also like to know what moderns you're referring to, 'cause I'm upping the prices of all my books right now and want to make sure I'm upping the right ones enough. hm

    +1

  6. Guess the market spoke on that Bone #1 CGC 9.6 on ebay - $2175 is a nice chunk o' change.

So which one of you fanboys bought it? :baiting:

a noobie speculator named comix_4_dummies (aka chris allen) won it...he lives about 30 minutes away from me, and tried to scam me once on a slab deal meh

i sold him two brand new RASL slabs about a year ago, he paypalled me the cash and came to my workplace to pick them up...we met up, chatted for a minute or two and left amicably..he calls me up 15 minutes later claiming i had 'tampered' with the slabs meh he said the sides of the outer casing had different plastic in the middle of them than on the rest of the slab (ie where you crack them open lol ) i guess he hadn't seen a slab before (shrug)

anyway, he ended up dropping it and admitting he didn't know what he was talking about, after being pretty rude. Apparently, he takes people's money and invests it into comics, even though he knows little to nothing about them.

i would suggest avoiding him at all costs! it makes me very sad that he has a bone #1 9.6 in his possession :(

UGH, I did not realize he had bought it. Sigh. I shouldnt' have even read this thread tonite. :(

'tis a sad day for bone, nick...a sad day, indeed :sorry:

  8. quite a nice price! if my $$$ weren't so tied up in OA right now, none of you would have known about it (except for the new GPA data) (:

You can only stack your Invincible #1 9.8 slabs so high before they are crushed under their own weight. You might want to keep that in mind. :baiting:lol
