    Hello again @surfer99! It's been a while hasn't it.

Sorry to hear the journal situation put you off for so long. You've been missing all the fun! Still no word on when the old will merge with the new I'm afraid. Meanwhile, here's how to find the old ones (re your comment above I bolded):

Step 1, go to the Browse function and select 'CGC Chat Boards' from the drop down menu:

    1_LI.jpg.54881263609f5f827564857745bd1c35.jpg

Step 2, click on 'CGC Journals - Posts and Responses from Old Format' from the CGC Forums list (arrowed in yellow):

    2_LI.thumb.jpg.5c363cf27dba7f56d9ed14d17aa7810f.jpg

Step 3, you 'kiss, and hold her tightly. Well that sure, seems like heaven, to-oo me'.

Sorry. There's all the old journals.

Another way to find your old journals is from your profile page. Select 'See my activity' like so (yellow arrow):

    3_LI.thumb.jpg.fb7dce19c6a620450cd146d25f55ae18.jpg

And you'll see 'Everything posted by surfer99'. To the left, under Forums, select 'Topics' like so:

    4_LI.jpg.a9c6b0da413cc4e6986eaea6fe7f8a80.jpg

...and that will bring up every thread you've ever created in date order:

Hope that helps. It's a shame we don't know what's going to happen with the merge and when. I've been holding off creating a pence journal as I don't want to put a lot of work in if we don't know if / how the merge will affect post content. I'd hate to post hundreds of images and then find they go missing in some rotten photobucket type migration event. Maybe one day one of the admin team will give us an update.

Good luck, if you attempt a new one!

    Thank you! Very helpful.

A response from Arch, from a summary post elsewhere:

Hello again @surfer99, you seem to have missed all the fun, having not logged in since asking your question! I hope when you do that the info I provided above helps. There is no word on when and how the old journals will migrate I'm afraid.  I'm not sure how they can migrate as the formats are not compatible and square pegs don't generally fit into round holes. But I'm sure there is a plan, and we'll hear news on it at some point. Cheers

Thanks! Yeah, I was so discouraged last time I was on here that I haven't been back until now. I still can't seem to find the "CGC Journal - Posts and Responses from Old Format" section, but whatever. At least it's still there and will hopefully get migrated "sometime". Thank you very much for all the help! I can see the new journal entry now and will have to give it a try soon.

  3. Yeah that Cap 1 book from the new series was trash. I don't know why Marvel has to constantly mess with Steve Rogers. Hasn't he been through enough already? Looking forward to this "cosmic cube turned Cap into a Hydra agent" storyline ending so we can get the real Cap back...and he needs to get his round shield back from Falcon-Cap (ugh).

I really don't read the new books anymore, but I'm having a blast going back and picking up Bronze and Silver Age books/titles I hadn't read before! I sound like an old man, but it's true...they don't make em like they used to.

  4. Thanks Brandon! This was the gem, had a couple other books come back a little lower than I'd hoped but its all good. So much drama about the new cases. I see the defects people have mentioned but I'm not stressin like some people are doing. Im still a CGC fan.

  5. Hey, Surfer! It's been awhile! just wanted to chime in and congratulate you on this beauty. I've ALWAYS loved the Super-Adaptoid. GREAT villain (can you say X-Men #29?)! I love those old issues with the Sleeper in them, as well. I also wanted to congratulate you on that oh-so difficult Amazing Adventures #9. I know you've been looking for some time and I actually thought about selling my 9.4 to you. You're an incredible X-fan, just like me. That RonnyLama is a hell of a guy. And an excellent fan and collector just like you!

Dude! How you been man? Good to hear from you. I appreciate the kind words and yeah Ronnylama is one of a kind for sure. Amazing person.

Super Adaptoid rocks and the first time I saw him WAS in X-men 29, lol. Way cool of you to think of selling your AA9 to me. That one was tough! I keep checking on your Missing Years set hoping you'll get it completed...it's a good feeling and such sweet books. Hope to chat again soon to hear what you've been up to!

  6. Thanks Azkaban, and I'm with you...diggin TOS!

The struggle is real Rockblazer, if I had the money I'd visit my LCS a lot more often! My wife is like "buy comics with the intent of selling them and you'll have a bigger comic budget". Problem is I end up keeping them cause I don't wanna let them go!

  7. Looking fancy in the new case...

I picked up this book raw from my LCS about a year ago for an amazing price. It looked to be in great condition so I was feeling pretty good about getting at least a 9.0 after a press...Im very slowly looking to complete the Tales of Suspense Cap issues in 9.0 or better graded condition to go along with my reading copies. I previously submitted issue 82, first appearance of the Adaptoid, and it came back 9.4 so when I saw issue 84 came back 9.4 as well as I was super stoked! In this issue the Adaptoid becomes the Super Adaptoid. Such a classic villain, and with a sliver of the Cosmic Cube as his power source he is more than a match for many of our heroes!

    Til next time...

  8. My earliest comic book memory...

This is a very special post for me. One that I shared on IG and decided to expand upon here. My earliest childhood memory of comics was hanging out with my aunt during the summer and flipping through her small tattered collection of Xmen, Silver Surfer, and Fantastic Four...all of which she gifted to me years later when I told her I started collecting comics. I must have been about 8 years old at the time because there were way too many words on the page...my only focus was the story told through art, especially the battle scenes.

If I had to pick one book that stuck out the most for me it would have to be Xmen 22. Something about that red cover with all those cool looking grade B supervillains just really grabbed me. Recently I picked up a couple books that turned out to be the first appearance of two of these characters. It was then that I decided, you know what, I'm going to pick up all of their first appearances...and I did. Reading copies, yes, but that is the point...my Xmen 22 that I still have from my early childhood was well read and I have received just as much enjoyment from reading through these first appearances. Here they are in no particular order...

Avengers 13, first appearance of Count Nefaria

Tales to Astonish 48, first appearance of Porcupine

Tales of Suspense 51, first appearance of Scarecrow

Strange Tales 112, first appearance of Eel

Strange Tales 113, first appearance of Plantman

Tales of Suspense 56, first appearance of Unicorn

    Thanks for reading.

    Til next time...

  9. I love all the responses to this post and I'm glad Stan's Soapbox resonated with you guys like it did with me. I was reading Strange Tales 145 tonight published in June 1966 and noticed Dr. Strange was being attended to by a black doctor after he'd been shot. A month later, Stan would introduce us to the Black Panther, the first African-American superhero, in FF 52 published in July 1966. Stan made his point in both subtle and not so subtle ways during a crazy time. Thank you Stan for not remaining silent on such an important topic.
