  1. From 10 am to 3 pm, comic books and the like will be bought, sold, and traded. There is no excuse for you not being there! No early birds! Admission is $4 and parking is free. Door prizes are back, so you can win $25 con cash every hour! 2. I got this note from Sean's wife to share with the group: Thank you to everyone on the CGC boards who wrote such kind and eloquent posts about Sean. They were incredibly meaningful to me, our daughters, and the rest of our family. He really loved talking with all of you over the years, but I don’t think he would’ve expected this kind of outpouring. For those of you who really dug his Rick Geary Frank Zappa avatar, I thought you might like to see where we have the original hanging in our home. It’s on the wall next to an oversized Zappa poster that Sean bought at Cheap Thrills record store in New Brunswick NJ when he was a student at Rutgers c. 1988. I had it restored for him about 15 years after he bought it, and it’s been hanging on our wall since then. We were both psyched to have the 2012 Geary pen and ink accompany it. -Bonnie Wasielewski
  3. Now I don't know if there's going to be snow that day, but I've got a feelin'. A SNOW FEELIN'! And what's better -- comic books or clearing your sidewalk? There will probably be a guest or two. But, more than that, I'll be there. No early birds! Admission is $4 and parking is free. Door prizes are back, so you can win $25 con cash every hour! 4. And here it is. https://www.shorepointfh.com/obituary/Sean-Wasielewski
  5. I briefly texted with his wife and I mentioned the outpouring of love from all of you. Obviously it can't replace this loss, but please know that it helped her to hear it. I'll follow up with the obituary/service info in a day or so.
  6. When I speak to his wife, I'll be sure to let her know about all the really nice things everyone has said.
  7. It's with my deepest sadness that I have to share that "bird" -- Sean Wasielewski -- passed away suddenly on Wednesday. He was a man with many opinions, and he and I had some great discussions about comics and life over the years both here and -- even better -- face-to-face. I spoke with his wife earlier today and she let me know that a service will take place soon, although they don't have the details yet. I suspect it will be near the shore in Jersey where he lived, and I'll post that information here when I get it. Along with his wife, he had two lovely daughters. Edited to include obituary: https://www.shorepointfh.com/obituary/Sean-Wasielewski
  8. Did you know that Derek, the con organizer, always brings snacks? He also brings various Mountain Dew flavors for a refreshing drink. It's the little things. Bob Petrecca and Earth Dog Studios are the guests. No early birds! Admission is $4 and parking is free. Door prizes are back, so you can win $25 con cash every hour! Clarion hotel 76 Industrial Highway Essington, PA 19029 IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, POST THEM HERE AND HOPEFULLY I CAN ANSWER (or I'll ask Derek). https://philadelphiacomic-con.com/
  9. And it's not something you (or at least I) could do myself. I can do regular lawn stuff. But taking down four 30-foot trees? No way.
  10. Throw one Marvel from the early 90s in there... Ghost Rider #15 9.8 White $90
  11. Do you know how much tree removal costs? Well, it ain't cheap! Since that event has sucked dry my comic sales/profits, I need to start replenishing. And what better way than a pile of 80s 9.8s? These just back from Florida. All 9.8s, all white pages. All keys? Semi-keys? Key-ish? Payment through PayPal G&S or cash if you're in the Philadelphia area if you want to meet up. Shipping is $10 for 1; more than 2-4 is $15; and if you're crazy enough to buy more, that's $20. Refunds accepted within 30 days of shipping.
  12. The best thing about the Philly airport show is that it's never a dud with dealers. There are always a good group of people setting up -- and it's a sold out room. And me? Well, I'm the one with the best dance moves. (I also haven't done a show in like 6 weeks and I have plenty of good new stock.) Bob Petrecca and Jay Taylor are the artist guests. No early birds! Admission is $4 and parking is free. Door prizes are back, so you can win $25 con cash every hour! 13. Here is an interesting new twist on the Canadian Mark Jeweler's.
  14. I have nothing clever to write this time. Sorry. I promise to do better next one. Sold out room with plenty of new dealers! No early birds! Admission is $4 and parking is free. 15. There are dealers there that will accept submissions. I know Basement Comics is there, and I'll be dropping off things to have pressed and then submitted.
  16. As other have said: Sets are tough sells. Credit card readers are a must. Have everything priced. Make a display of some kind. Bring lots of $1s and $5s. Bring whatever you want/can; remember, it is the promotor's job to bring people to the con, but it is your job to have the things there that they want to buy. You may do terrible the first time out, but don't be discouraged. Slabs don't sell nearly as well at shows as they do online. I would recommend NOT doing 2 booths the first time out. It's a lot of work setting up that much stuff. When I have 2 10x10s, I usually bring around 50 long boxes worth of stock.
  17. My favorite big-con of the year, Terrificon returns at the end of July. Great guests, lots of comic book dealers (yes, comic books), and gambling, too! What more can you ask for? Terrificon July 28-30, 2023 Mohegan Sun Uncasville, CT https://www.terrificon.com/
