  2. Our next Wayne show is scheduled for October 11th At: The Wayne/Pompton Baymont by Wyndham 140 Rt 23 North Admission $5 Please read the following if you intend to attend either as a collector or vendor... They have a very large ballroom on the second floor! It will be open to the public from 10-4... NO earlybirds. All vendors will be spaced 6 feet apart. Rules that apply to both vendors and collectors... .EVERYONE MUST wear a mask or face covering that covers both your nose and mouth. Anyone not able or willing to do so will not be permitted in the show. .Try to maintain 6 foot distance whenever possible. . Since it may be necessary to obey capacity limits, please avoid bringing anyone that does not need to accompany you. One more person in the room may mean one more person that has to wait to get in. .We will be taking your temperature with a touchless thermometer before entering. Anyone whose temperature exceeds 100.4 degrees will not be allowed entry. If you have exerted yourself or have been in a hot environment, we recommend waiting before having your temperature taken. . If you feel sick... if you look sick... if someone in your household is sick... or has recently gotten over the virus, please stay home. We reserve the right to refuse entry to anyone that in our opinion poses a risk to others. .Bathrooms are available... wash your hands frequently. Hand sanitizers will also be available. If you want to wear gloves, you are welcome to... but make certain that they are powder free, since cornstarch powder can cling to and damage comic books. We will not be having any auctions for the time being since people tend to congregate a bit too closely. Specifically for vendors... .Do not bring additional tables unless we request you to do so. Do not alter table layout. . While the space is large, if we need to restrict the number of dealers we will do so based on seniority. .If a collector at your table is exhibiting unsafe behavior you have the right to ask them to move on... if they don't, find me and I will take care of it. .There is an elevator in the lobby that will fit one person and a luggage cart... do NOT hog luggage carts... or you can use the stairs if you are willing to risk a heart attack. Please have everything at your spot before the 10 am opening, even if you have to finish arranging it afterwards. Do not break down before 3:30 without specifically asking for permission to do so. Our friend, Jeremy R, will once again be coordinating load in and load out for vendors... understand that he represents me... anything you say to him is being said to me... anything that he says to you is coming from me. Specifically for collectors... .Observe 6 feet distance between yourself and other collectors. .Backpacks have become a "thing"... they also take up space in the aisles when worn and increase your odds of physical contact with other collectors. If you are bringing a backpack, please carry it-do not wear it. . Please understand that we may have to limit the number of people in the space at any given time. My right hand for decades, John K will be coordinating admission and the waiting area... his word is law. We look forward to seeing you all once again... in the meantime, practice your hands-free greetings!
  3. I don't know, but I am certain there must be some. Are you familiar with Pat Milligan? I know he could definitely bring some on request as well as Michael Williams.
  4. I'm glad you enjoyed the show!... We have already booked the space for October 11th!
  5. There should be very little wait time to get in! New regulations allow 100 people in the larger room and 50 in the smaller at a time!
  6. We will be adding two more vendors this month! Anthony's Comics and Art and Zapp Comics!
  7. Our Wayne Comic Book Expo this past Sunday was a rousing success! We followed protocols... I am pretty certain that everyone was smiling... but since everyone was wearing their masks, it was hard to tell 😉 We have already booked the same venue for September 13th! Mark your calendars!
  8. Yesterday was our first comic book show since early March... we moved to the second floor ballroom of the hotel in Wayne to allow for proper distancing and protocols. The show was split into two rooms to allow for as many people as possible. Customers waited patiently and happily in the common area once the spaces reached maximum capacity and we had to enforce a one out/one in rule. Everyone was happy to be part of the community again.... so many customers thanked me for running the show, which was heartwarming. EVERY vendor did well... four told me that it was the single best one day show that they had ever done. My thanks to Jeremy Rybak who was incredibly helpful coordinating and helping our dealers during load in and load out. ...and as always, my very special thanks to my right hand, John Kliminski, who manned the admission table, took every customer's temperature, controlled the overflow crowd waiting to get in, yet made each and every one feel appreciated... without him, I would have been curled into a ball in a corner rather than working the rooms to make certain everyone was enjoying themselves.
  9. Just an FYI for Sunday's show... masks with valves, fleece masks and bandanas are not effective face coverings, offering little to no protection to those around you. Fleece masks actually increase the risk. Proper coverings must be worn at our Wayne show this Sunday.
  10. Nowhere in the posts for my show have I stated that I am imposing a one hour limit.
  11. You have obviously never been at one of my shows... but if you lower yourself to one day attend one, please ask one of our many happy vendors or customers to introduce you to me. Just ask for JP... I have run over 600 local comic book shows in 29 years... I would really enjoy meeting you.
  12. If you are an art collector, our friend Joe Veteri has an art only show scheduled at the Hasbrouck Heights Holiday Inn August 23rd.
  13. Just comics this month. Spacing does not allow room for guests.
  14. That was the Philly show... I posted it for my friend Derek. Our show has 2 rooms and 16 vendors... which is pretty much the normal amount. 25 people per room... please read the thread.
  15. Yep... room capacity is now at 25 people... However, the space we are using can be divided into two separate rooms, each with their own door. So... we are putting 8 dealers in each room. That allows for about 17 collectors at a time in each... after that, one out/one in. PLEASE do not bring anyone with you that is not a collector... or just have them wait in the hotel lobby for you.
  16. Something is better than nothing has been one of my mottos so we are going to do something Due to Covid guidelines in place we are limited to 25 people at any point in time during the day. Which translates to 7 dealers and 18 customers max per hour. A confirmed appointment is a MUST to attend on Sunday. If you don’t make an appointment then you will not be allowed inside. Also a must is face coverings to be worn properly (covering both nose and mouth) anytime inside the hotel itself besides the ballroom where the show is. Cosplay works out just fine for this except it has been rather hot out. Hand sanitizer will be available for use before you enter the show. Social distancing of 6 feet also must be followed. Since they are 6 foot tables in the room then we have to ask only one person per table while checking out the wares. You can find out available time slots by emailing the promoter Derek Woywood by using dwoywood@yahoo.com or by calling 856-217-5737. Time slot from 9 to 9:59 is our senior hour for those 60 and over. Though they can have another appointment time if that is too early for you. Slots will be hourly on each hour limited to 59 minutes browsing time in the room. For example if your appointment is for 11 and you show up at 11:30 then everyone has to vacate the room by 11:59 for the next wave of comic hungry fans. So please honor your appointment. Admission is FREE and parking is free. No guest artists or door prizes. 7 dealers coming from far and wide setup on 25 tables so enough to check out especially with free admission. Clarion hotel 76 Industrial Highway Essington PA 19029 Time slots are now open and they are: 9 for seniors only 10,11,12,1,2,3 with the show ending promptly at 4 PM. Dealers setting up this show are: Daves American Comics RC Comics Derek Woywood AA comics and cards Robs Kool Komics Jimmy Montgomery And last but not least Gene Carpenter of All-American Comics heading up from the DC metro area.
  17. This is return ink, not distributer's ink. Distributer's ink was typically applied to a small center area on the top edge of the covers on the stacks of that weeks books. The color varied from week to week to make it easier for newsstands to pull unsold books for return. Eventually, they started preprinting it directly on the top of the pages during the manufacturing process. When books where unsold, the returns were stacked up and a large amount of purple ink was slathered over them rather than clipping covers. These books often made their way back into the market for pennies on the dollar.
  18. We visited the hotel again yesterday and mapped out the space. At over 5,000 sq ft, we can easily space every vendor at least 6 ft apart. The room capacity is 400, so at 25% we can have 100 people in the room at any given time. So, please, whether you are a vendor or collector, try to avoid bringing anyone with you that doesn't need to be with you. There is a large sitting area outside of the space where a friend or partner can wait for you as well. Masks or face coverings MUST be worn at all times at any space within the hotel. Covering your nose as well as your mouth is absolutely necessary at ALL TIMES. Anyone unable or unwilling to do so will not be allowed in. Maintain 6 ft distance. Restrooms are available for hand washing. Hand sanitizer will be available as well. We will be taking everyone's temperature with a touchless thermometer. Anyone whose temperature exceeds 100.4 will be denied entry. If you wear gloves, be certain that they are powder free. Cornstarch can cling to and damage comics. Backpacks must be carried, not worn, to minimize likelihood of contact. While we look forward to seeing you all again, our first priority must be safety.
  19. It is doubtful we will have that many people in the room at one time since collectors come and go during the course of the day. If it does reach a tipping point, we will enforce one out/one in. (This would be a bigger issue at Clifton since that show tends to get crowded.)
  20. We have confirmed an August date for our Wayne show! Sunday, August 16th at The Wayne/Pompton Baymont By Wyndham 140 Rt 23 North Please read the following if you intend to attend either as a collector or vendor... They have a very large ballroom on the second floor that does not classify as a banquet hall, but as an event space! It will be open to the public from 10-4... NO earlybirds. Please understand that we may have to limit the number of people in the space at any given time. We look forward to seeing you all after what seems an eternity... in the meantime, practice your Vulcan and Klingon hands-free greetings!
