  1. Here is the cover to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles from the issue before the one posted before. This one is in the collection of Scot aka McSpideyFan on CAF, when I spoke with him he said it’s fine to link his artwork here. https://www.comicartfans.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=2004702
  2. Here is a published cover by Fred Hembeck, an homage or spoof on the Daredevil 181 Cover by Frank Miller. It is an early cover of the current IDW Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series and unmistakably a Hembeck cover. https://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=1445394
  3. Fun piece and like you said, a cover worthy commission. And there are many worthy and fun commissions or cover redos out there, but the published pages and covers are rare or you simply don’t see many of them. And my intention with this thread was to highlight the published pieces, but all good. Love that you contributed. Lets see what other pieces of work show up 🍿
  4. Let me start with this complete 5 page story from the original 1984 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles book, actually from issue 2. In the reprint of issue 2, they featured this origin story by or in Fred Hembeck’s style and view. Here is the link to my CAF featuring this story. https://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=2003344
  5. Hello, I think it’s about time to start a thread on published comic book artwork by Fred Hembeck. We all know his sketch cards or cover redos in his unmistaken style, but Fred Hembeck has been producing comic book artwork going back to the early 80’s and like a fellow collector recently commented, we rarely see these pages or covers anywhere. I always had a soft spot for these funny books, and Fred 100% fits into this category, so I was super excited that he was featured on CAF and even more excited to see that his work pops up in some major collections. So lets see them published pages - can’t wait what you all have!
  6. I admit, not a new piece in my collection, but I sImply feel the mood of it this week. https://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=1816279
  7. Quick update, it was also used as the title page, or probably the other way around, first title page and then cover.
  8. Go pig or go home - my newest cover from the most recent Spectacular Spider-Ham series, it is the cover to issue 1 by Will Robson. The cover was done completely digitally but my buddy asked if he would also create a traditional recreation of the cover, to which he agreed. Thank you to my buddy Vik to get me this for my birthday. https://www.comicartfans.com/galleryPiece.asp?Piece=1965187&GSub=0&GCat=3018&UCat=3018

  15. I hope you are right about your position. It’s the old concern of property rights, can artists make money on characters someone else owns and so on How long will they look the other way. Our hobby has turned into big business, it’s not only a couple of comic art lovers any longer and whenever there is big money involved there is the chance of others trying to get a piece of the pie.
  16. Why would you plan on doing this convention right in the middle of Disney property - makes absolutely no sense to poke the bear or mouse in this case. For our hobby I hope this does not backfire.
  17. Hi, I just added this cool Al Plastino Batman strip from 1969 to my CAF. https://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=1927182 And if that hasn’t sparked your interest yet, maybe this picture will. Miley must have read Batman comics, just sayin‘, you better check it out!
