It seems, like Paperbacks have been gaining some ground lately. There have been several successful threads here on the boards. I have a large box of interesting ones in varying conditions. All are priced pretty cheap. A bargain in these days of extremely high comic and pulp prices. Something for probably everyone. Thought I'd offer these here before I take them out to the flea market for the young hipsters... This sale will probably run a couple days. Have fun!

    Rules:

No problem children or HOS members.

Postage starts at Ground Advantage but might bump up to Priority Flat Rate Box depending on how many you buy. Since these would qualify, I can also offer Media Mail for the budget minded. Just state how you would like me to ship.

I prefer to sell only to US addresses but might make an exception if I know you.

An "I'LL TAKE IT" icon takes it first. So, keep that in mind if you want something.

I will take PayPal, Checks or Money Orders as payment.

Returns: No hassle returns within two weeks from when tracking says it was delivered. Return postage is on you unless I make a gross error and in that case I will "man-up" and pay return postage. I don't expect any returns though as I've only had a couple 4 in 40 years.

This stuff all comes from a smoke filled, varmit infested, mouldy junk house. (Just kidding!) Here we go...

Charlie Chan Carries On 1951 Earl Derr Biggers Avon #350

Nice copy with full, glossy lamination. Small corner in upper left back cover just starting to peel. Cover has just started to detach from book on inside. Hey, this glue is 73 years old! Pretty book!

    $20.

Take Charlie Chan if still available. Thanks.

  4. Reefer Madness! Or, Trapped. A 6.5 drug-education comic from 1951 with (more than slightly irritating) slightly brittle pages. I love the description from the GCD: Students smoke reefers, lose job, try heroin, then descend into life of crime to pay for habit. Reefer is such a great word. And did I mention that this was used in SOTI? It was.

Grader notes: Despite coming this 70+ year old comic being graded in April 2022, there were no grader notes.

    No recent sales. Asking $200.

  5. Northwest Mounties #4, CGC graded 7.5 with cream to off-white pages.

This book has a lot going for it:

    • Matt Baker cover
    • 2nd highest graded of 11 total graded with only 1 higher at 8.0
    • One hell of a handsome Mountie gracing the cover

Grader notesmoderate cover tanning; very light creasing to cover; very light spine stress lines to cover.

Last sale per GPA was August 2022 for $360. (The highest graded 8.0 sold for $134 in July 2004.) Happy to share any more pictures you're looking for. Asking $900.

  6. Thinking of Actually selling off some books. Rules furst.

Shipping: Shipping is $16 in the US for USPS Priority shipping for one or two slabbed comics. Three or more slabs will be $25. Raw comics will be $8 in the US for any amount of books. I am happy to ship anywhere outside of the US at exact cost via USPS.

Payment: Preferred method is Zelle, Venmo or PayPal. Payment due within 5 business days or I reserve the right to cancel.

References: I have sold a couple of CGC'd books over the last couple of months and those went pretty. I've sold on eBay as well but it's also been years since I've sold anything there but, for what it's worth, zero negative feedback there (susanville43).

Returns:  No returns on CGC books - happy to provide you with any picture you'd like. Raw books are returnable within 3 days of receipt (but I'm telling you up front, these are mostly beaters).

Take: I am willing to entertain offers but the first :takeit: in the thread always wins. If we come to agreement in a PM, the take needs to be posted in the thread to complete the transaction - if nobody enters a take at my asking price before you post your take, it's yours. No Hall of Shamers or Probies.
