  1. Here’s a pretty obscure one I happened to be flipping through today. Captain Britain #14 (Vol 2)
  2. Not very exciting news, but seems like the multipack back covers for #4-#6 are the same as their standalone counterparts. Heres #4 back cover in multipack. Risk And #5 Noxzema Acne And #6 Reach for the Stars Then I have multiple copies of #4-6 both newsstand and direct, and all back covers align #4 #5 And #6
  3. I have a Transformers #4-#6 multipack. I'll take a look tonight to see what the back cover is on those and will report back
  4. My entire family jams to Monster (Reckless Love) every time it comes up in the playlist. All our heads bob in unison. I never knew glam rock was still a thing, and now it’s my go to playlist when I run.
  5. I'm right there with you. While GoT certainly isn't known for virtuous protagonist characters without flaws, there doesn't seem to be one character in House of Dragons that has any redeemable qualities at all. There's no one really to root for. I find myself hoping they'll all fall off a cliff or get barbequed by the dragons.
  6. "Go Live" date for the CLZ and CovrPrice integration. Though I debated on whether it was worth a joint subscription (need active subscriptions to both services), I went ahead and gave it a shot. Update only took a few steps and looks like I'm getting comic values now. Only thing that's giving me an error is syncing with CLZ Cloud. Timing out on me thus far and not updating the Core database. From a values perspective, I assume graded comics are pretty standard based on historical sales and some basic algorithm. It's the raw books that I'm interested in seeing if values are in the ballpark at all. As often said, comics are only worth what someone else will pay for them. But it is rather rewarding to see book values ebb and flow even if only on paper (or in App)
  7. Oh yeah, the #4 has such an awesome cover! Would have loved to see a high grade copy. You definitely scored a sweet #2 for me though, and that was the last hole in my run and so difficult to find. Later the Mile High came up for auction and I just couldn’t resist adding a twin to my collection.
  8. Looks like the CGC database was updated for the #1 and #2. I have 2 copies of #2 with conflicting dates. Of course I can’t crack them to validate for sure, but I think it should be 01/40 for #1, 05/40 for #2, and 07/40 for #3
  9. Amazing run! I have the full run as well and love ‘em! Looks like you have file copies for #2, #5, #6, and #8, I have #3, #4, and #7. So looks like we only need file copy of #1 to complete the set!
  10. I certainly don't need this, but love the Kirby cover. Looks like it was used as a doormat (LOL), but the real beauty still shines through. I can't help myself. @ 20% Off.
  11. All cook books, but I really do love the Haunted Love run. Some very cool covers in that series! This is definitely one of them 👍
  12. Very cool. Not sure I would have noticed the position of the horse. Subtle change, but I’m sure it took some effort to do. I’d love to learn more of your research if you decide to start a thread at some point. Not sure you’ll find a ton of interest, but at least there’s two. Haha!
  13. Anyone ever try to collect all the Blue Bird shoes giveaways? Charlton books (reprints) with a new (?) cover that were given away in a handful of shoe stores? The cover art for most of these is cropped to fit in a store name across the top bar and are a bit underwhelming IMO. The cover to Mysteries of Unexplored Worlds 18, however, is a really cool looking cover and better than the original.
  14. Thanks. That’s what I assumed. Mostly a baker reprint, but modifications to the baker art done in house by someone on staff. Appreciate it!
  15. Fun thread to revisit. Was the Photo Catalog ever organized differently somewhere, or is this thread the final compilation? Also, question about Vooda 20. I know it’s comprised primarily of reprint material from Seven Seas 6 and the art was “re-worked” to reflect a jungle theme (and conform to comics code). The cover seems to be a swipe of the splash page from Seven Seas 6, but the face is different. Did Baker do the modifications to the art himself, or was it done by someone else?
  16. Good to hear. Peacemaker has been a breath of fresh air in a time of over-saturated superhero shows/films. It’s hard to find something original enough to break through the mold, and Peacemaker has been probably the best original concept from DC that separates itself from even most of the Marvel stuff of late.
  17. I enjoyed revisiting this thread today. Some really amazing books! I thought I’d post some pickups since this thread began. I’ll exclude some that have already been posted, so I thin these are fresh to the thread…
  18. Here’s another First Love cover I thought was well done.
  19. Richard Whack, campaign manager. 😂
  20. Shirt color is throwing me off, but could the photo to the top right be Flyin Jenny? Blond hair and hair band seem to align, but not much else to work with.
  21. I think you’re spot on with the other intended consequence. CGC not only drives additional membership $s to look up grader notes, but the reslab $ activity will increase as owners/sellers want to get their books out of slabs with obvious stated defects into slabs that have no notation to make it easier to sell to the uninformed public.
  22. I can’t resist the temptation to read a thrilling story of the cockeyed wonder! at 15% off. If the freebie isn’t claimed, I’ll take the Charlton Phantom as well. Thanks!
