  1. I received my first Comic Cubes a few weeks ago and really love them. I opted to go with two 2x2 units so that they would be a bit more modular than a 1 piece 2x4 and am glad I did so. It took 2 people to lift the 2x2, so I can’t imagine trying to move anything heavier. Very sturdy and well designed. The drawers have a slow close feature and are not flimsy in the least. All my GA/SA books are now settled and comfortable. Only problem is that I’m about of space already, and may one day consider adding another 2x2. Comic Condos isn’t currently taking orders due to backlog and hard to get supplies, but I do recommend in the future for anyone interested.
  2. I’m not sure I’d consider this a 2nd appearance (or 1st given it came out at the same time as SWS4) simply because we just see Judomasters head in a backup page/panel explaining Karate and how to do some basic moves. He’s not in an actual story, and hard to argue even cameo given that it’s just a karate tutorial with no story arc. I’m sure an asterisk should be added somewhere for it, but I’d consider 2nd appearance as Judomaster #89 IMO. That said, I think I saw somewhere that maybe Overstreet denotes Sarge Steel 6 as 2nd appearance, so I guess it’s debatable.
  3. I know Charlton comics aren’t known for strong stories and engaging characters, but I find them appealing for some odd reason. The character concepts are actually quite interesting and I could see some kind of resurgence with good story-telling and maybe some luck. Gunn may be just blowing smoke, but he’s commented that the upcoming Suicide Squad movie is his favorite work yet (and hard to believe he would favor this over GoTG), so I could see Peacemaker and maybe a few other Charlton rejects (Judomaster, etc) get a bit of renewed love with the Peacemaker HBO spinoff. Stranger things have happened.
  4. Watched it on Paramount+ last night and really enjoyed it for the most part. Nothing groundbreaking, but suspenseful and fun.
  5. Rare...or rarely graded most likely, but happy to have snagged this First Love #73 stunner.
  6. Seemed like a good time to give this thread a bump A-1 #10
  7. I was flipping through some of my Star Wars books his morning and to my surprise found this one.
  8. I noticed that too. They both fell off my watch list (and trust me, I was only watching ). Maybe due to the cosmic sales results on highest graded Promise books, they've decided to take off the site for a bit and try to reset the bar with higher prices.
  9. Just watched through Episode 6. This is surprisingly a very good show. Obviously somewhat catered towards a younger (teenage) audience, but it has some coming of age lessons and some great action that simply makes this fun to watch. Good character development and love to see the Justice Society brought into modern times. Even the passcode for the door lock in episode 6 was “1941”, so subtle references back to the golden age and early Justice Society days. Very enjoyable thus far!
  10. No thanks. I believe I stirred the pot enough already. I have plenty of marvel chip SA as well, and do consider that a flaw. But why invite ridicule?
  11. Yeah, but a chip is a chip. GA or modern, it sure makes the book fugly. Why would the grade not represent what is obvious to the eye as a flaw (either manufactured or not)?
  12. Yikes. Unless that corner ding/tear happened post-encapsulation, that's really has me questioning whether it was purposely mis-graded or if we've got some inexperienced graders looking at these. Talk me off a limb here. Is a 9.6 possible with that defect?
  13. Agreed. While it’s an amazing book, a 9.8 has to be a mistake, no?
  14. Some great books here. Here's an early DC. Falling in Love #1. DC romance always seemed so sad and full of tears.
  15. It's just another one of those movie driven characters that has the speculators in a frenzy (and, I also was only interested in the character prior to his year due to the Watchmen tie). To be fair, early indications are that the upcoming Suicide Squad movie looks to be very promising, and Peacemaker (played by John Cena) seems to be an integral character. So much so, that an HBO Max spin-off series will focus solely on Peacemaker. I think the reason this book (and Fightin' 5 #40 - first appearance) are so lofty is due to the fact that Charlton books were printed on "cheap paper" and don't seem to hold up well over time. So there aren't many of these out there, and to find them in high grades (9.4+) is pretty rare. So I get the quick growth in these books, but it does seem a bit wacky for a character that most people had never heard of until a few months ago.
