  1. Yes. Excellent film with only a few minor gripes. There is a thread somewhere on the board for that film.
  2. I can think of one thing it probably isn't helpful to do.
  3. Never heard of him. Did a quick google search of his work and wish I hadn't.
  4. Oh no. My last two packages that "delayed" during out for delivery, completely vanished. Had to refund/reorder. Wishing you luck man. ADDENDUM: mine were Amazon and FedEx though not UPS
  5. I remember buying that off the news-stand.
  6. Mnemonic rituals executed to the machine god. Let Eisenhorn be thy name.
  7. This is absolutely one of the coolest posts (IMO) in the mag thread for a very long time. It put Jack Jackson on my radar and has inspired me to purchase some items related to his historical works. Thank's so much for sharing.
  8. I am on this season. Went back and rewatched season 1. It holds up well.
  9. There are so many ways to screw this up and only a very narrow path to pull this off successfully IMO. Can't wait to find out something more definitive in regard to the direction they are taking.
  10. Just got back from the local cinema with my wife. First movie we have viewed in theatre since Rise of Skywalker. Absolutely enjoyed it. No precocious 12-year-old kid who solves every problem; No scientist and his/her estranged scientist spouse dealing with their own issues as they try to save the world; In short, none of the tropes that Hollywood seems to think are required in these sorts of flicks. My wife made the comment, as we were leaving, "that movie felt like I was watching something made decades ago", and she meant that as a compliment. I think she liked it more than I did. I was a little put out with the ending as it seemed too formulaic. I think a more powerful statement could have been made without opting for the happy ending. Solid B+ in my book. I wonder if TOHO is resetting their Godzilla universe with this as our starting point?
  11. My personal favorite was the fifth doctor as portrayed by Peter Davison. That was my introduction to the Doctor on television as my local PBS station played them on Saturday nights (immediately after Are You Being Served). I will always hold a special warm teenage feeling for Janet Fielding from that season as well.
  12. Firelord vs Spiderman. The Wrong Side: Spider-Man vs. Firelord (cbr.com)
  13. Grandpa had a solution for my brother and I when we were kids and fighting. Our ranch had about 3 miles of border shared with a railroad and at some point he had them deposit all the old bridge timbers from a trestle they replaced, onto our land. Grandpa would send us out to the timber pile with mauls, wedges, and hacksaws (had to cut through all the iron work binding the timbers together). We would have to quarter the timbers into pull posts etc. We learned to settle disagreements quietly or at least out of sight of Grandpa. *pulls brim of hat over eyes, leans back in rocker, falls asleep*
  14. Don't mix your metaphors. C'mon man, this isn't rocket surgery.
  15. I have. Clean bill of health. Three polyps removed, none of concern. Thanks for asking.
  16. I think it is a remake of a far superior movie...
