Kinda dig this page but have no idea of the value. Was hoping someone could clue me in as to whether this is priced fairly?

Bagley was my first artist when I started reading (Amazing) Spider-Man. I have never been able to snag an ASM page but these USM pages have kept me happy. The Carnage page is my favorite. Kingpin beating the spoons off of Moon Knight and Pete is always fun to look at. The other two were just nice examples of Ultimate MJ. Kinda sci-fi feeling pages during the clone saga where MJ turned into a Red Goblin. One of these days I'm going to try to pick up a page with a fully costumed Spidey. Chrisco37, love your pages!

This one is a keeper for me so I won't be grading it. Got the sigs personally. It would look gross in green. Thanks everybody for your thoughts!

My copy of GI JOE 1 is pretty solid. There are some easily pressable defects on the cover that do not show up in the picture. Main issue are the two small tears on the lower left rear wear it looks like someone snagged it with their thumb. Would love thoughts on the grade as pictured as I am assuming anything not visible would press out.

I love my copy of SS3 but have no idea how to grade it. The stain on the upper right hand cover looks tactile but isn't. The prominent stain on the back upper right cover is the worst of the dirtiness. The spine....yeah, no clue. Would love some insight!

Paid a lot more for this 20 years ago! Glad to have it back in the collection!

Hey all! Wondering what you would grade this book and where it may be after a press? Defects not shown in the pictures are 3 non-color breaking bends on the spine and a small indentation (also ncb) on the top front cover. Back cover spine is defect free besides the staples and upper and lower right corners are sharp. Was also wondering if and how the tanning and smudge on the insert might affect the grade. I haven't submitted a book in forever so pressing has never been on my radar but I'm wondering "when to press". Going to submit some moderns soon (not this) and thought this could be educational. Thanks!

Thanks for the responses. I talked with the seller who really did not seem to understand the idea of "restoration". I explained politely how even just a little color touch puts a book into that category and can negatively impact the value of a book. He is 64 and really does not deal with comics but listened to what I had to say and in the end preferred to give a partial refund over having the books returned as "he didn't know what to do with them". He sold me the 48 and a 50 for $370 plus shipping and insurance and I took a partial refund based on the $300 I felt was the 48 part of the deal. I have never been interested in owning a restored book but this situation was new. Based on our back and forth I truly don't think the guy realized he was being deceitful. I was happy with the book (all I wanted was a full M in Marvel!) except for the color touch and ultimately I paid a price for it I felt was fair while cutting the guy a little slack. I plan on this being a keeper and although I already had the idea Joey suggested, I think I am going to leave it as is. I kind of like the idea that a kid just didn't like the hole in the cover of one of his favorite books and had an idea. Maybe it's true, maybe it's not. But, I'm gonna go with it. Thanks guys!

Guys, thanks for the responses. I was in a rush and said "Fine" meaning I paid a price in-line with the grade I believed it to be (3.5 ish). Can always count on boardies to tell it like it is! I'm so bummed. I knew it would be considered restored as soon as I saw that but just wanted to check with everybody first. I was buying it as a keeper but I will never be happy with it knowing I paid a universal price for a restored book. Even if it is just minor color touch. I am going to get in touch with the seller and get the ball rolling. Just for the record, he has 100% eBay rating with 3600+ feedback. Apparently he is selling off his original owner FF's (so he would have been the one to do the touch up) but no other comics so I'm inclined to believe he may not have understood he was doing anything wrong. Not that he gets to keep my money. Luckily I have never run into this issue before and I'm just disappointed that it's happening with the one book I really want right now. Hi guys. Just finally got my copy of FF48 and was thrilled until I noticed the top right corner. Apparently (pun intended, the original owner I bought it from didn't like that there was a piece missing and stuck a sharpie in there so that the missing piece wouldn't be as noticeable. I have never really dealt with restoration and always thought of color touch to be covering up of defects such as color breaking creases. If this was just colored on the first page I would think this might be considered unrestored but it seems he just stuck the sharpie right through the hole which touched the edges where the piece is missing. Really just looking for thoughts. I paid a fine unrestored price for this book and just want my info straight before I decide where to go from here. I appreciate your time!

It's a pretty solid book with plenty of defects to knock it down into my range. Honesty, one of my big "musts" was centering. I wanted to see that M in Marvel. Made up for a the other stuff. Unfortunately, upon inspection I found something going on with the top right corner that i could not see in the initial pictures. There is a small piece out that someone stuck a sharpie through to "bring the cover back together" I guess. I don't really have any experience with restoration but that counts as color touch, right? I know that tends to apply to things being covered up whereas this is behind it but does it count just the same? I bought though eBay from a man in Canada (I'm in the U.S.) who claimed he was selling his childhood FF books. They are the only books he has listed so I buy that and the fact that he may have no idea how restoration affects value. Or even that it was restoration. So, I'm definitely looking to see what you think the book grades out at but am now very interested to hear ideas on this top corner issue. While I like the book, I don't like that I may have overpaid for a restored book. I had no intentions of getting this graded but now feel I would have to should I ever sell to protect both myself and potential buyers. Just looking for your thoughts. Thanks!

Thanks all for the responses. He thought it was 4.0-ish and was asking $300. I thought it was 3.0 at max and wanted a more educated opinion before I made an offer. Even at fair prices for the grade I think I would pass and seek a better copy. Shopping for a keeper

Thanks, James! Lots of creases along the spine. Not quite a "spaghetti" book as I like to call them but not far from that. Also, thanks for the notes about CGC's signature verification. While I understand CGC's protocols, were I inclined to sell I would not expect a buyer to take my interaction with a mild tempered Neal to carry the same weight as a verified slabbing

Hi Folks. With all the people on the webs claiming not to be "professional graders" I thought I would look for a little grading practice. I have this well loved copy of Bats 251 that I pulled out of a box and had signed by Neal Adams at Baltimore CC 2009. Well loved with plenty of wear but the most being the paper loss to the right of the price circle. Will share my amateur ideas once I get some feedback. Thanks!
