  1. WB tapped Chris McKay to direct live-action 'Johnny Quest' Movie. https://www.thewrap.com/the-lego-batman-movie-chris-mckay-jonny-quest/ https://screenrant.com/jonny-quest-movie-live-action-rating Every time I watch a Tim Matheson movie I fondly remember Johnny Quest.
  2. In a recent Instagram Live, Zachary Levi mentions "I'm bringing all my gear up to Toronto because we're gonna go do some really fun additional footage for Shazam! up there." I'm sure the VFX subcontractors have a list of pickup shots they need to complete their vector graphics prior to final CGI rendering as well. The VFX in the latest Aquaman trailer are exceptionally mindbending and the same artists I believe are also doing work on the Shazam! Movie so I'm eager to see the visual magic they contribute to the final theatre release.
  3. Remarkably talented Shazam! fan art with a painting style reminiscent of Kelly Freas.
  4. An update FYI before the Internet click bait trolls start reading too much into this with their negative spin. Zac and Jack are still listed as guests at the RIComicCon first weekend of Nov. Hopefully we'll enjoy a few more Shazam! Family cast funny viral videos next month.
  5. Fun and entertaining NYCC 2018 interview with Zachary Levi. If this and his SDCC interviews are any indication, the Shazam! press junket next March will be a blast!
  6. If this ain't the look of Captain Marvel Jr. about to beat the living snot out of Captain Nazi for killing his Grampa and breaking his back to make him crippled for life I don't know what is.
  7. I'm not a fan of fecal humour but this post by Zac gave me a good gaffaw, would have done a spit-take if I was drinking anything at the time.
  8. This is way cool, Zac Levi with an impromptu guest performance of "Fly Me to the Moon (In Other Words)" at a concert in New York's Central Park. Captain Marvel's a phenomenally multitalented triple threat. I forsee an EGOT in Zac's future.
  9. +1 With the disappearance of the convenience store spinner racks I was unaware of The Power of Shazam! in the 90's and only discovered its publication 6 years ago. I was gobsmacked to see Captain Marvel again with his military aviator tunic jacket and cummerbund in a modern day comic and bought up NM copies of every issue at Graham Crackers on E Madison, Chicago. The experience was like reading a brand new Fawcett Comic with the same high quality and uniqueness Fawcett's always were. So much so, even Frank Coghlan Jr. was impressed to pen a fan letter of support -
  10. So thoughtful and superb in every way, Jerry Ordway is a Superstar!
  11. I believe it is providence that collectively put this outstanding Shazam Family cast of actors and filmmakers together for this highly anticipated Captain Marvel revival feature movie. The Bill Parker & C.C. Beck Captain Marvel mythos is in dire need to be retold to today's youth. A delightful professional refection by Zac at his recent Baltimore Comic Con panel. Denis Leary said it best... "the special feeling we get in the cockles of our hearts, maybe below the cockles, maybe in the sub-cockle area, maybe in the liver, maybe in the kidneys, maybe even in the colon. We don't know…"
  12. Addendum to my prior post. An akamai fan provided Ordway with a vintage Fawcett Captain Marvel printed stationary paper sheet in which he drew a picture of Captain Marvel Jr. that turned out to be a very cool, unique one-of-a-kind art piece. I have a similar experience of enjoying High Tea with George Perez and his wife Carol in the Queens Room aboard the Cunard RMS Queen Elizabeth 2 and George presented me a beautiful signed drawing of Batman on the back of a QE2 stationary folder which I have framed in my office. That was the year he did the cover of the 35th Overstreet Price Guide.
  13. Jerry's been self-publishing as Okay Comics the past few years and his latest comic/sketchbook is Proton #1, a character he introduced in Messenger #23 last year. Otherwise he's just been doing the comiccon circuit and commissions, he also randomly posts some of his original artwork for sale on eBay every so often. He was one of the featured contributors to Action Comics #1000 last April drawing one of the 11 stories celebrating Superman's 80th anniversary. Here is a link to an article he wrote for Draw! Magazine breaking down his penciling and ink for this special DC issue which is very interesting on how he designs his story panels.
  14. Phenomenal. The only illustrator who ever fully understood and gets what Beck, Raboy, Swayze, Smalle and Binder were all about and masterfully renewed their artistic acumen and integrity within the classic pages of The Power of Shazam! series 23 years ago with Zac Levi. Happy Birthday Zac!
  15. Billy Batson with an Antonio Canova's "Psyché Revived by Cupid's Kiss" shirt print. "Shazam!"
  16. Mighty nice collection of Fawcett's David Sandberg has in his menagerie of personal film mementos. For the benefit of the unwashed, his beautiful books on his shelves are: Whiz Comics #18 - only 10 on census + 5 restored - FMV $1,650 - $1,400 Captain Marvel Adventures #73 - 8 on census Captain Marvel Adventures #137 - 9 on census + 1 restored Famous Monsters of Filmland #91 - 11 on census Shazam! #1 CGC 9.6 - 422 in grade, only 123 graded higher David knows his books... he knows.
  17. Ponysmasher is so rad. Kinda guy who'd be fun to drain a few bottles of fine vintage wine with for an enjoyable evening of freethought conversation.
  18. They are the coolest Hollywood couple who are not your traditional Hollywood couple.
  19. I agree. I believe most people totally missed Sandberg's foreshadowing in the Christmas Fairgrounds teaser trailer scene at 02:25, just before the convenience store robbery scene. Billy Batson is determinedly invoking his Power of Shazam! to protect Eugene, Pedro, and Freddy from harm's way, which is likely the moment in the movie where the "Fit hits the Shan" and both Billy and Captain Marvel are now in symbiotic control to mitigate any and all villianous threats throughout the remainder of the film.
  20. I don't know if I'm alone on this... since I was 12 years old I became aware of and have ever since recognized Fawcett's as the most sophisticated stories and highly refined illustrative art of any comic book publisher in the 40's and '50's along with William M. Gaines. Intelligent, professional periodical publishers with their thumb on the pulse of public comic book reading entertainment and enjoyment in their time.
  21. I second that motion, "Wow!" That Sir, is a keeper. Bravo. Bravo.
