Copper's Heating/Selling Well on Ebay

Art Adams is "way better" than Dave Stevens? Well, art is subjective, but objectively, you are wrong. -
Signature verification at Monster-Mania 8/24
seanfingh replied to K.C.3's topic in The Signature Room
I want to respond to this, and I will try to be 100% non-snarky, which will be a challenge for me. First and foremost, I understand that everyone wants to get their books put together for the best price possible, because stuff is just expensive. But for the presence of the facilitators at shows without witnesses, however, there would be no SS. Those facilitators have travel expenses, booth fees, wages for their agents and all the other expenses involved in being there. If they can't charge for their attendance and their service, then, again, there is no SS. So if you don't want to pay their fees, then don't. If you want to negotiate a bulk discount, go for it. But it is not fair to say they should eat all those expenses just so you can get your SS books done without "disgusting" "cash grab" fees. -
This thread is spectacular. I had a six year hiatus from buying comics from the middle of '92 to the middle of '98. These boxes are reminding me of how fun it was to be getting back into comics in mid '98 after the big crash, when the industry was just starting to dust itself off and focus on producing good materials and not bad girl chromium lenticular holocovers. I am just loving it.

I believe that is an authentic George Perez signature. He shortened it up a little as he got older, but the basics are there.

THE GRADE IS IN!! PGM - X-Men 6
seanfingh replied to Corvonie's topic in Hey buddy, can you spare a grade?
I never have. I had a Cap 110 come back 9.8 and I auctioned that through Pedigree. I have done one auction with Comiclink as well. Both were fine. Most of what I have sold I did here on the boards or though @GACollectibles who is handling a massive consignment for me. -
THE GRADE IS IN!! PGM - X-Men 6

For my 2 cents - I would put it on the highest profile auction I could, as quickly as I could. It is not a key, but it is a very highly collected series and there are only 5 of them. Who knows how many with White Pages? Let it rip and get paid. -
THE GRADE IS IN!! PGM - X-Men 6

This is a really interesting book. At least as it relates to GPA reporting sales, the last 9.8 sold 12 years ago for $9650 and there was a sale of a 9.6 for over 20k last year. It seems like there could be some massive pent up demand for a 9.8 WP. Book is an absolute smokeshow. -

Good work policing a two year old post. -
This is perfectly stated. Since the authentication horse appears to have left the barn, the main issue remaining is upholding the strength of the Yellow label and providing some sort of delineation or difference. They probably will incorporate Yellow to give the authenticated books the benefit of the Yellow label's goodwill, but I hope there is an orange or other color stripe for authenticated books.

Certified Collectibles Group to Acquire James Spence Authentication
seanfingh replied to Ryan.'s topic in Comics General
I'm flabbergasted that people are talking about how "easy" is to identify authentic Stan sigs. Stan used to have a small clean sig - like those found on the Spiderman-Superman Treasuries. It got bigger, fatter and messier as the years went on. He started having the separated "t," then he started having the "Stedle/Stendle sig, and by the end there were a lot of big blobs. How anyone is going to authenticate anything post-2015 is an absolute mystery to me. -
Image United and the Glossy Secret Invasion blanks were universally panned, but you would have to try and find those. Most everything that has been done from 2013 or 2014 on have been pretty good.

@AleLuque We will need better scans in order to see the damage or lack thereof on your copy. I would almost be predicting a subscription crease unless the spine is wrecked like the other example. -

I do not believe that page coloration will affect grade -
Keep them like that. Those are absolutely super cool.
