  1. Yeah, but even a 9.8 is a ‘low-baller magnet’. Good discussion. Having submitted a lot of books, I now swear by the pre-screen. A 9.6 non-‘ultra’ key in anything late Bronze and up is just mind- numbingly crazy to submit. Guaranteed money loser and magnet for annoying buyers. IMHO opinion it is best to use a 9.8 pre-screen and make sure to check the census. More than 5 copies is a no-go for books you want to sell, unless one likes commensurateing with annoying ‘low-ballers’. Which raises another question for me, does adding comments like ‘I once saw a sale for $25’ or will you take $15 because the case ‘doesn’t look like an ‘immaculate ‘9.8 to me’ ever work for the low- ballers? I would sooner have leverage to tell those annoying people, ‘good luck getting the only other 9.8 copy at that insulting price’
  2. I vaguely recall a PGX 9.2 with sticker selling on the bay a couple of years ago, That of course is a huge Krapshoot as it could be anything with that label, still gives me hope that 8.0 is not the ceiling on the stickered variant. I think you did quite well. Always wanted a piece of original art. What was the artwork? Was it comic related?
  3. Just the aesthetics of that ugly slash makes the newsstand more desirable. ‘Demand’ seemingly outpaces ‘rarity’ on this issue. I would imagine the book still in a multipack might command a premium?
  4. The tough books in high grade are #165 Whitman and #184 no price with sticker. OSP is clueless on how impossible these books are in 9.0/9.2 They would be the only books close to being “under-valued”
  5. Not my sale or purchase but wow! $39.99! Was scrolling eBay completed listings and saw this. Hope this went to a lucky boardie But how much did CGC screw over the seller! I have personally had multiple books come back without ‘price variant’ noted on the label even though I checked the box and noted it on the submission form.
  6. Per bleacher report: Dalkowski never actually made it to the majors because of serious control issues (1,354 walks in 995 minor league innings, plus 1,396 strikeouts), but those who actually faced him say he’s the fastest pitcher ever. Ted Williams once took a spring training pitch from the 5’8” Dalkowski and reportedly never saw it. An official reading is unavailable because Dalkowski pitched in the 1950s and 1960s, but some have estimated his fastball could reach 105 mph. His greatest accomplishment is probably striking out 21 batters in a minor league game and walking 21 batters in another.
  7. This The comment “he is still only a teenager” was significant. ‘puny Parker’ in the flash Thompson HS days has been replaced by a rather ripped PP. If his strength is ‘proportional’ , he would now be in the heavy weight contender class
  8. That should be it Let these percolate this weekend then close up shop Monday Thanks for looking!
