  1. Maybe Bud Selig could look into this I am sure this hobby is totally legit
  2. I think you nailed it here. SW 2,3, and 4 are not new stories nor a #1. They also are not rare in comparison to the other 35 cent books. X-men 94 is no ones first appearance and Morbius ?? Really?? "B" list at best.
  3. Matt Nelson was the infamous eBay shiller who sent his minion on here to try to excuse this behavior. He then joined the "CGC team" and got the shiller thread deleted. Why anyone thought a change in venue would cause the sun to shine differently on his shady practices is beyond me.
  4. There is no consensus what-so-ever on any of the ages. Agree with you, it could be Bronze or copper, let each decide It is easier to say where a book isn't than where it is. We can probably agree it is not Gold or silver. But to declare that books are Copper or bronze based on eBay is
  5. This cover is so dam cool! Awesome add to your collection
  6. No it will not be graded as restoration. But it is clearly restorative. hopefully this gets changed in the near future.
  7. WTF When was the first appearance of OJ's the 'real killer's' bloody knife. Why would anyone care about such a thing?
  8. Solution in search of a problem. Just what we need. More rules and red tape.
  9. My mom threw out most of my books when I went to college, but I had a few boxes (400-500 books) in my closet that lived on until I sold them. I still keep my favorite books in my closet ...... like no one will discover them and throw them out
  10. I bought Hulk #181, probably a 9.2 or better for $1 in the late 70's. It was well read when it left my hands. Also had Tales of Suspense #39 I paid $8 for. Bought 2 copies of ASM #129 for 25 cents each at a flea market. One of the copies had this pesky inset ( mark Jewlers). I removed the insert. I hated those things. All of these were part of my childhood collection I sold many yrears ago. Used the money to buy a slightly used station wagon in order to launch a failed Taxi business
  11. Iron Fist 15. John Byrne, new X-men. That series ended with a bang.
  12. I honestly did not have time to navigate through 7 pages, so please forgive me if this was already mentioned. Since OP is talking about flipping, we can assume this is not for his "personal collection" - which to me is by far the most unethical thing to say when planning a flip. The fairest way to deal with this is to offer the seller the option to consign the book(S). This really keeps things honest as it is in both parties interest to get the highest value for the book. If time is of the essence and the seller has a price and has rejected the consignment, then there would be no ethical problem. Both parties are getting what they want.
  13. I profited most from the books I decided to keep and enjoy And in case the IRS reads the boards.... I only lose money
  14. Things can't disappear as easily if you quote the book you are claiming. I have made a habit of this since sellers will at times offer multiples of a book. This makes it clear which book you are claiming and then there is no issue of erasure.
  15. Question to the boardies: The recent debate in the WTB forum about buyers posting their offer price seems to be settled for now. I took a stance on that, but I am very sympathetic to those who waste a lot of time on low ballers. To combat this and alert others I have taken to posting the book in thread with asking price. When the OP flakes and never responds it alerts others who think the asking price is fair to consider if they want to waste their time. My question is : If I get a response from someone other than the poster by PM, am I obligated to wait for a response from the OP? How long is a reasonable period to wait?
  16. Just in the starting stages of liquidating my own collection of GA-Bronze. Over 900 slabs, 5+ short boxes of GA, 3+short boxes 30 cent variants and 2+ short boxes of 35 Cent variants. 87 short boxes over-all, soon to be consigned. Most of the bronze are vf/nm range. I hope to get a down payment on a vacation home somewhere in the northwest. Time to let others enjoy these books. The one thing I am most happy about is I was convinced by another boardie very early on to go with short boxes.
  17. My own Godzilla books are of the variant type, sorry I have nothing to offer but these.
  18. This explanation makes little sense. There are 6 copies in 9.8. #15 has only 4. Low census numbers are not the reason, it seems more like an irrational reaction in the marketplace, Low census in common bronze means 'no one gives a krap to slab'. This book is monstrously common in high grade like every other book in the run. The holders of the raws have not been incentivized enough to send the book in.
  19. GPA looks like 192-$340 on non-peds. last sale 9.8 was over 5k I imagine it will be a CPR
  20. It looks 9.0 driving by full throttle on your bike while hitting a speed bump.
