  1. I will say...I think the boardie who consigned is happy. They will net $534 off of hammer prices of $635...some lots did poorly but overall it all evens out in the end generally. So if you want some fun, spend a few minutes this weekend or next pulling some books that fit together...30-50 maybe...and consign them to me! No hassle and all quick and easy peasy. I am a sucker for the walmart 3packs, and unloaded quite a few of the "less desirable" issues at cost or for profit today...putting together themed lots has its' advantages. Next auction is 5/2/23, post bombardment should commence in mid April. really, consign some books. @the blobI am looking at you! For some reason you seem perfect for this, lots of groovy books hiding away, ready to be mini-bulked out! I'll pick them up! ;-) But everyone else as well, have 50 magazines or spider-man bronze and want to see what happens? You'll be happily surprised I bet!!!
  2. and chit show it was! Tongue tied twisted! As Ed Wood said...the next one will be better!
  3. 199 views from cgc, thanks guys! I appreciate it. and remember, no handling fees for boardies and shipping is exact cost on label I pack like a beast as well.
  4. Wildstorm Special by Alan Moore and his first art in comics by Carlos Danda. The best standalone comic I ever read, I think!
  5. getting interesting...I still cannot figure out that Hulk lot though...good problem to have I guess just lost a bidder...live A don't play! Open a few disputes and they suspend you. I am used to selling to low feedback on ebay and you dingbats here, so I have high tolerance for shenanigans but Live A don't play! I just figure they are helping me dodge a bullet. I will say that I am privy to dispute history and will NOT be buying comics from a Canadian auction house, tons of disputes on the comics!!!! Canuckleheads!
  6. I fear that I have made a horrible mistake with this sale, only 3 days left. NOT! It isn't a major success (yet?) but I won't be regretting it. People are crazy sometimes...the leading bid is $450 for Incredible Hulk issues 401-474 or whatever the last issues is, Thunderbolts issue is included but no She-Hulk Pulp Fiction homage issue (I think that is the only one missing in the run...see next auction more likely than not for that one). But for every lot surprisingly high there are 10 or more at a steal. okay, promo paragraph over. it is so much fun, but I didn't realize it would trigger my inner F5 monster. so goodbye, I have to go hit F5 and see if anyone viewed anything live auctioneers comic auction ends friday and remember, no handling fees for boardies and shipping is cost on label
  7. okay, a few more photos added to the lots I thought were crazy low. 8 lots still have no bids at $10 starting bid...the lots doing crazy well seem to be the ones with photos of fronts and backs so I am learning! Be a good man, and thorough. no more edits, 3 days out everything is locked solid come and get your love
  8. I think we agree. the fans didn't judge the movie, they pre-judged it. I liked it. I was the only one in the theater! The "fans" felt entitled to something that doesn't exist so they hurt the thing that did exist out of spite, with no regards to the merit of it on its' own. I am a fan, a huge one, and I went to see it to give it a chance. Was it great, no. But it was very good and great in spots. Will the "fans" now boycott The Crooked Man?
  9. I just emailed mcs and pulled back some consignment items to add to my next auction, so maybe y'all can get some cheap. I doubt it though, these live a people be payin'! Please consider consigning lots of copper/bronze/silver...just look at the prices on some of these! I went to Live A for a reason, but even so I am surprised at the money out there for copper & bronze. 25-40 book lots of decent condition seem to be the hits so far, not the runs.
  10. today was a day of extremes, 2 mind-numbing webinars on live auctioneers, 45 minutes or so each, one I watched already but wanted refreshing and one was new (post auction invoicing). Then it was drive and funtime, I went and filled two longboxes, stuffed those bad boys. This weekend I will take those 2 boxes and 3 others I bought recently and see if I can make some lots for the next auction coming in late April, assuming this one runs relatively smoothly. No video this time, only audio, as I do not want to over commit myself on the first live auction but live shots of the lots should be coming soon enough, hopefully as soon as auction #2. putting together lots is great fun for me, what can I say. I am hoping to make one lot with books where publishers crossover, marvel/dc but also image, or superman bugs bunny etc. not sure if that will work, I have to get enough books to make it bid-able. I also am making modern newsstand lots, I had almost enough for one lot and now probably have 2; maybe one mostly image and one x-men. I know the spawn newsstand lot in my current auction is doing well so reinforcement delivered! Here comes another or 3 like it! again, the handling fee is waived for boardies, just let me know and I will adjust the invoice accordingly. unlike the small community here, Live Auctioneers is big business with fees and buyer's premium. and maybe even sales tax, depending on where you live (I don't worry about that, I have live a handle it). no handling fees ever for local pickup as well. also, for boardies I can hold paid invoices for shipping at a later time or convention pickup (Big Apple in March?)
  11. 8 days away from the auction 94 of 107 items have bids, and those without bids are mostly manga lots or manga magazines. One lot of posters with no bids has 10 posters IIRC, one of which sold on ebay for $80 not long ago. so yeah... oh, and apparently the mangajin magazines are an excellent way to learn Japanese, and I have a lot of 22 of the first 25 issues! Defintiely flip city going on in this auction. some minor keys with no bids as well https://www.liveauctioneers.com/catalog/276277_fedres-comics-inaugural-comic-auction/
  12. okay, I noticed some lots could use more words or more photos and am adding those today. this is fun, I only hope it is still fun when it all goes down and I have to mail 107 lots in 3 days. good problem to have though.
  13. thanks for the question. The shipping was a bugaboo for me, that $22 flat shipping charge was an early attempt that I must not have removed when I was going to list shipping for each item, that $22 would have been priority mail + the handling fee. but that is all moot I guess.. so, first off, the handling fee is waived for all boardies if they let me know to adjust it. I put that up above somewhere but will make sure to mention it again. the bold part is meant to reflect that I do not know final value of any item prior to auction end, nor if buyer has own shipping/insurance or even what carrier they may require, so the exact shipping can not be confirmed until item ends. yes, there is 18% BP (low for live a,they get 5% of that 18%) Mostly it is all legalese not an attempt to hide costs. I tried to keep the handling fee low as well as the BP (they are both considerably lower than the 3 auction houses I buy from on there, or used to buy from), and again, no handling fee at all for boardies if you tell me when initially invoiced so final cost on all items...hammer + 18% BP + shipping (based on location and shipping class/insurance)...no handling fee for boardies but non boardies pay $7 for 1-3 lots and $16 for 4 or more lots. I am happy to get an exact shipping quote (well, not exactly happy but willing) given an address and lot #. Thanks! Next auction I am trying not to have so many huge lots to better anticipate shipping; trying to keep most lots able to fit in medium flat rate usps and see if people prefer that to big lots. (also, I cannot alter terms on an active auction as far as I know so I cannot fix those issues above but will definitely be tighter on 2nd attempt) I am very happy to have been engaged on the auction, thank you! I can't get better if people don't point out problems. Like I said I tried to keep fees lower than typical on an auction (BP where I buy is 20%, 25% & 27%) as well as fees (I buy where I can do local pickup, but saw most houses charge a handling fee for each item no matter how many, and again, this is waived for boardies, just tell me when I invoice you). I have some consignments and am offering better rates than other NJ auction houses by far. But that is because I am new to the Live A game, soon I'll be squeezing every nickel and dime! But for now I want to get rid of tens of boxes of comics all at once and no longer a few each week so I am trying this It looks to be working too but I need feedback from the other side to truly get it going. Thanks again @MR. Pontoon!!!
  14. I am planning my 2nd auction for early May. Pulling the DC spec and making lots from those, tons of early and modern Avengers, newsstands galore, Ghost Rider, Green Hornet, at least 5 modern star wars lots, it is great fun getting the auctions together! Immortal Hulk 1, X-Men 212/213, 221, +. and I am just getting started! I have no more to do right now for the first one, just sit and watch.
  15. I myself fight hard to keep out of a storage unit and limit the boxes I accumulate. Insecure storage + cost = need to own only what I can keep in my house. I moved recently and lost a ton of storage space in the process, so I cannot buy big until some serious unloading takes place. I don't get having so many comics that they are off site and inaccessible. I'm moving 4000-5000 in 2 weeks when my auction ends and will be doing another auction quickly to clear space. But 100 longs is too many, especially when people are buying now again. Move dem books people. Turnover turnover turnover. Plus, when those 4K books move, I'll be getting more and maybe a key or three. Put dem keys aside and turnover turnover turnover. generate cash, and get more books. don't sit on books and generate stress and costs. my d level experience has led me to this conclusion, your mileage may vary
  16. https://www.liveauctioneers.com/item/145239665_saga-lot no bids on the excellent SAGA lot!
  17. facebook has passed cgc boards in linking over to the auction, lets go cgc boards! don't let facebook out click you! ;-) I will admit I epxected more love for the I Hate Fairyland / Fugg Fairyland set also some nice Peach and Skottie variants in there
  18. gotta make sure no one's upset
  19. horrible, I hope it all works out well but even the stress is unfair and ridiculous I wish the laughing emojis were not removed, when people tell you who they are you should listen but now I have no idea too many less than genuine posters, it is disgusting not nearly as disgusting as the theft of course. Thanks for posting details and identifying info.
  20. I think this is brilliant if it is like the comic, a Batman teamup focused movie with 4-6 small chapters where Batman & Robin interact with other DC characters, engage different DC heroes and team up as the story progresses and end with Batman & Robin taking on the bad guy behind it all. They can introduce 4 or more heroes in one movie, tell brief compelling stories and then move on with Batman to another hero. Or heroine as it may be. I would hope there are NO Batman universe characters and instead they use it for world building. They could even use Keanu as Constantine as prelude to that movie (if that is not an elseworlds). But Batman & Robin interact/teamup with, say, Orion & Big Barda, Phantom Stranger, Deadman & Flash (yeah, you know Flash is in here somewhere) in one movie, that works for me. Batman explains to Robin who the people they are meeting are, telling us in the process. Or maybe Jimmy Olsen, Swamp Thing, Zatanna and full on Legion of Super Heroes. Anyway, good to even contemplate these things.
